Complicated Love: A Minecraft Story

Chapter 8

I wake up the next morning in bed, and I shrug the square blanket off of me. It takes me a moment to readjust to my now square body, and I almost fall over before steadying myself. I remember that Steve's friend Herobrine is coming over today, and I head downstairs to eat breakfast. I grab some bread from the chest underneath the counter and eat it. I'm the first one awake, so I decide to get breakfast for everybody else. Steve is the second one to wake up, and I realize this is my chance to make a move and take him from Alex.

"Hi Steve," I say, my voice a tone higher than normal. "I made breakfast for everyone."

"Oh, thank you Y/N, that was very kind of you." Hearing Steve praise me with that rich, deep voice of his triggers something inside of me that I didn't even know existed.

"~ah- I mean, um, Steve, when is Herobrine going to get here?" I ask, accidentally letting out a slight moan.

"He should be here in a couple hours, why?" Steve says, raising an eyebrow.

"Oh, um, I was just wondering." I say.

Steve opens his mouth to respond before we both hear a loud noise from outside.

We both rush outside to check what the noise was. The loud noise seems to have woken up Alex and Babam, as they come out of the house shortly after.

Standing in the middle of a large crater is a man that looks exactly like Steve, other than the glowing white eyes that seem to gaze straight into my soul.

"Hello Steve, Alex," Herobrine says, and his voice startles me. It's not as deep as Steve's, and it sounds almost ethereal. "I assume these are Y/N and Babam?"

Steve nods, and moves forward to wrap Herobrine in a big bear hug.

Even as he hugs Steve back, Herobrine stares right through me, and I begin to feel a strange feeling.

"I think I'm going to go-" I'm cut off by a sudden force around my square midsection.

"Herobrine! What are you doing!" I hear Steve yell as I'm suddenly taken into the sky.
