I swallowed my shame while trying to catch my breaths. The bride clearly thought I was moved by her display of emotions when, in reality, I realized I had just fucked up.

Big time.

"Please don't kill me."

The bride's tired and red eyes locked with mine as she wiped away the snot which gushed down her nose. "What?"

I cleared my throat, trying to find courage---any courage I had in me to tell her the truth.

"So---the guy I slept with. His name was Evan."

She nodded. "Yes, my husband."

I slowly shook my head. "No. Not your husband. Um. This isn't the guy I had sex with."

The bride tilted her head before she abruptly stood from the grey chair. "What do you mean?"

"The photo---it's not him. I mean sure the guy I fucked had like spray tan and dimples. Really cute dimples. He's here tonight by the way. Not that you give a shit about that considering I just told you I fucked your husband---then didn't." A deep sigh escaped my frantic mouth. "I'm going to stop rambling now."

She tried to catch her breath. "Are you telling me you did not sleep with my husband?"

"N--no," I stuttered. "I, in fact, did not sleep with your husband."

Suddenly, there was a knock on the bathroom door. "Babe, you in here?"

The bride rolled her eyes, then stormed to greet who was on the other side. "Come in, Evan."

My widened eyes stayed that way until they locked with her husband's.

Oh, this is so fucking awkward.

"Why are you crying, babe?" The groom cupped the side of his bride's cheek affectionately, concern written across his face.

"Do you know who this woman is?" The bride asked, pointing towards me with trembling hands. "She said she fucked you."

Her husband darted his attention towards me and gasped. "What the hell? I've never seen you before in my life!"

"I've tried to tell your wife that---after I told her we had sex, but she didn't believe me."

"We never had sex!"

"This is a complete misunderstanding on my part. I'm extremely sorry. I saw Evan---the other Evan, outside while I was preparing the food, and I got confused and thought he was the husband. I had um, actual sex with the other Evan three months ago."

"The other Evan? You mean the best man? So why in the world did you think he was my husband?"

"Because Nick confirmed---Oh, that son of a fucking bitch."

"Nick?" The bride growled. "Nick the fucking prick!"

"Nick, the prince of Iceskonia."

"Imma kill him," The bride yelled. "I can't believe he tried to ruin my wedding!"

"What's going on?" A familiar voice asked, just before they stepped into the bathroom. Evan---the real Evan, locked eyes with mine. "CC? What the--?"

"I'm so sorry," I apologized, over and over. "I'm really sorry."

The bride pointed towards me and Evan. "You two need to have a chat, while I go and kill my stepbrother." She dragged her husband out of the bathroom. "Come on."

I was suddenly left alone with the guy I had slept with a couple of months before. The guy who was not in fact the groom.

"Wanna explain what's going on?"
