Bokuto was nervous. Three weeks ago he had bought a diamond ring with Akaashi and Kuroo by his side.
"She'll love it." Kuroo insisted
"Don't worry Bokuto. Christmas is the best time to propose." Akaashi insured
Now three weeks later it was New Year's Eve and he still had the ring. He really did mean to propose on Christmas morning but had instead chickened out and removed the ring from your stocking before you had even seen it was there.
Now here he was the little box sitting like a lead weight in his pocket while you finished the last bit of your make and decide which outfit to wear.
"Kotaro? Which one?" You ask holding up two choices
"Whichever one you feel best in Y/n." He replies
"That doesn't help at all you know." You sigh
"But you look hot in everything so how can I choose?" He says
"Kotaro that's a load of bull shit." You laugh
"No, it's not." He replies
You decide on your outfit and quickly pull it on before going to the bathroom to put your hair up.
Tonight was the annual MSBY New Year's Eve Party. Or well it became annual because Atsumu Miya decided they needed to have one every single year. It wasn't a very fancy thing but there was a good amount of people gathering in the Miya Twins home for the night. It usually consisted of the MSBY's players, their significant others and anyone else Atsumu decided should come which usually was old friends or people who he had played volleyball against at some point.
"Wow, you look great." Bokuto complimented as he entered the bathroom
"Thanks, baby," you smile "Can you clip this for me?"
You hand him a small silver necklace with a heart on it that he had gotten for your birthday last year.
Bokuto clips the necklace with ease and places a small kiss on your cheek before spinning you around to face him.
"You look great." He says again
"You already said that, Kotaro." You point out
"I'm stating facts." He grinned before picking you up and wrapping your legs around him
"Put me down." You insist
"No." He laughs
"I'm too fat for you to be lifting me." You whine
"Don't be ridiculous," Bokuto kisses you "I'm the strongest of them all so you're as light as a feather."
"That's nice. Now put me down we need to leave or we'll be late." You say
"Okay fine." He gives in and puts you down
Snow begins to fall slowly as Bokuto parks the car.
"It's good we got on the road before it got slippery." You say as the two of you walk towards the front door.
Your boyfriend doesn't reply and instead just gives you a small smile.
"Kou? Are you nervous about something? You barely talked in the car." You point out
"I'm not nervous at all. I guess I'm just tired. Practice has been sort of rough lately." He lies
You nod, not knowing what he was planning in his head.
Bokuto knocks on the door and it's quickly pulled open by a woman who looked around your age or maybe a year younger.
"Atsumu?! That spiked hair guy from your team is here!" She yells in the direction of the kitchen
Atsumu comes out of the kitchen with his hair slightly messed up, behind him Osamu is standing in the archway holding a messed up rice ball.
"Atsumu picked up a perfect looking rice ball that Osamu made and dropped it, now Osamu is ready to kill him." The girl who opened the door explained
"Oh...that's nice." You reply. You met the twins back in high school but you're still not used to their constant bickering over little things.
Bokuto and Atsumu greet each other and begin talking about something Hinata had done at practice a few days ago and you're left with the girl.
"I'm Atsumu's girlfriend." She smiles
"Oh, that's great. I'm Kotaro's girlfriend." You reply
The two of you make small talk as more people slowly arrive.
About half an hour after you had arrived, the door slams open, and a loud,
"You dumbass!" Can be heard as Hinata Shoyo walks in covered in snow
"Hey Hey Hey!" Your boyfriend's loud voice can be heard as he greets the orange-haired spiker
Following Hinata is someone with a large hat and scarf on them and in their arms is what looks like was a plate of cookies.
"If you hadn't slipped I wouldn't have dropped any of the cookies!" A voice scolds
"I'm sorry okay!" Hinata exclaims
The hat and scarf come off to reveal Kageyama Tobio with a pissed off expression on his face.
"Wow Hinata when did you and Kageyama get together?" You ask
"Oh just about 2 months ago," Hinata says
"Yeah and every day I regret my decision." Kageyama glares
"Don't be so rude!" Hinata argues
Your eyes widen and you just laugh at the two of them while they bicker.
Across the room, Bokuto thinks about the ring that sits in his pocket. While he knows Kageyama was joking about his regret he can't help but wonder if once he gets down on one knee, that you'll regret even meeting him all those years ago.
