"Hey wait!" Sugawara exclaims "Your tie was crooked."
Suga gently fixes his best friend's tie as he shakes out his nerves.
"Are you ready?" Asahi asks placing a hand on Daichi's shoulder
"Of course I'm ready. I've known her since high school." Daichi smiles
Daichi thinks back to the first time he saw Y/n. It was back in their third year of high school, she had just dropped her folder down the steps in the hallway and was scrambling to pick them up while others walked around her.
Daichi being considerate stepped up to help her shove the papers back into her folder. A quick thank you was all he got before she scampered off to whatever class she had next.
He didn't see Y/n for weeks after that but he quickly learned that she was in the advanced college prep classes which meant she wasn't even in the same hall as him.
To his surprise, she found him and asked him to let her join the volleyball team as the manager.
By the end of the month, she was standing alongside Kiyoko and Yachi as the managers of Karasuno boy's volleyball.
It was on Daichi's 18th birthday or rather the night before that she had kissed him before running away claiming she forgot about some "important homework".
The rest of their third-year of school was spent with flirting and touches they thought were oh so subtle.
In the end, Sugawara had pushed Daichi into asking you out and fully committing to the relationship.
Now, seven years after you had stolen a kiss from him all those years ago you were both finally ready to tie the knot.
"If you start crying mom's gonna cry." Your little sister sighs
"I wasn't crying!" You defend your self as your dress is being fixed
"Whatever you say." She dismisses you before pulling her phone out
"Even if you don't cry... I'm sure Daichi will." Kiyoko laughs
"Once he starts I know I'll be done for." You sigh
"Maybe. But what's a real wedding without a little sobbing." Kiyoko points out
You think back on her and Tanaka's wedding and you can clearly remember not just you but also Nishinoya being very emotional that day.
"I guess you're right." You grin
"Of course I am. Now, let's go show Daichi how amazing this dress looks on you!" Kiyoko exclaims
Daichi feels his breath hitch in his lungs when he sees you at the other end of the church.
You give a little wave to him and he smiles as the music begins and you start moving.
By the time you had reached your future husband, he was already trying to pull himself together and not cry.
He gently takes your hand as you ascend the steps together.
"I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you." He softly whispers
