Iwaizumi's talk and Kunimi's suprising friendship

How does one get honey without getting stung.

3rd person POV:
Hinata was filled with so much unease. It's been 1 week since he's quit volleyball and left Karasuno. It's been 3 days since he's started aoba johsai. It's been hard for him. He left his world behind to be someone he isn't. He had to say goodbye to being him, who he really was. He couldn't even help his team reach nationals like he always wanted to. He couldn't even join the volleyball club. It was all for nothing.
He had to figure out what to do with his life, volleyball used to be the only option but here we are.
The thought of joining the volleyball club was going back and forth in his mind. He wanted to so bad. He just had to figure out what to do to join while still being safe. But that was easier said then done.
Another thing that made Hinata really want to join was the Nekoma training camp that was happening at the start of next week. He heard that aoba johsai got invited this year as Nekomas coach wanted to meet the team that beat Karasuno's new crows. And he also made friends with aoba johsai's coach.
But alas he was unable to do anything. All he could do is stay on the low so he doesn't get found.

-time skip to after school-

Hinata's POV:
I escaped Oikawa's grasp perfectly in the morning. But now I need to see him again to meet up with Kunimi so we can finish the project. I have to spend the next hour and a half watching a powerhouse volleyball team play volleyball while holding back the urge to join them.
"This is going to be annoying!"
"What it?" I hear a voice behind me. I turn around only to see Iwazumi
"Oh Iwazumi-senpai, hello," I say with a bow that he returns " So Oikawa-senpai didn't mention that I'm staying to watch you guys practice today?"
"No he didn't but if he made you do it you don't have to come."
"Oh no no, I have to wait for Kunimi-san so we can go work on a project together after."
"Ah okay then, let's walk together them."
"Okay Iwazumi-senpai." We start to walk towards the gym
"Oh and you can drop the senpai, we're friends after all."
"Friends? But I played for Karasuno, don't you not like me."
"What no what makes you think that. Ever heard of healthy rivalry? I'm friends with most of the 3rd years from teams I've played against or that I've met. Especially the vice-captains. Being honest I meet up with some of them often especially Semi and Sugawara."
"Oh, I never noticed, I thought Aoba Johsai hated Karasuno because of the whole Kageyama thing."
"What no, I mean I think the first years have a problem with him, I liked Kageyama. The poor boy went through so much and he could never deal with his emotions that well. He reminds me of Oikawa in that way."
"How so?" This conversation is getting interesting
"Well, Oikawa nearly hit Kageyama once because he was scared that he would be forgotten under his talent. Oikawa felt threatened by him, he felt inferior and he couldn't handle it. Months after the incident he worked so hard he fucked up his knee and he's been on and off of rehab constantly. They both did the same thing, Oikawa felt inferior to Kageyama and Kageyama felt inferior to both Oikawa and you Hinata."
"Wait me, how?" There's no way, without Kageyama I'm nothing so why would he feel inferior to me.
"You see, he saw the way you acted as the captain to the team, you always knew what to say to make them feel better, what to do to make them want to carry on, that was something he couldn't do. He envied Oikawa for it too."
"How do you know all this Iwazumi?"
"Well he told me, whenever he's down he will call me and I'm always their to listen. This has been a habit since his first year in junior high after a very serious thing in his life happed" I wonder what. "You see someone once told him that he should get better to seek greater opponents and at the time those were me and Oikawa so he turned to us as his idols, especially Oikawa. But Oikawa couldn't understand that, he didn't understand what it was like to have someone look up to you, as in his life he's always been looked down by his father, always compared to his older brother as to being nothing."
"So he also has serious family problems huh." I mutter under my breath
"What was that Hinata?"
"Oh, nothing."
"Oh okay, oh look were here, well you can go over to the bench and watch." He pointed toward a bench in the corner furtherest fro the court."
"Ah thank you, but Iwazumi I have one question, why did you tell me all that?"
"Just so you know that just like Kageyama you can always turn to me if you need to let of some steam." He smiled, that reassures me so much, with him on the volleyball team maybe it will be safe enough to join.
"Thank you Iwazumi, that means so much to me."
"I know it does hinata." And with that he turned and headed over to the few people that were practicing already. That was strange, what does he know.

Iwaizumi's POV: (I just realised I spelt Iwaizumi wrong but I can't be bothered to change it all)
Hinata asked me why I told him that. I want to say that I said all that to make him feel reassured but in reality I did it in hopes he would join. I'm being really selfish but I would love it if he would join.
Not just to make the team stronger but also for Oikawa. I see the way he looks at him. Those love stricken eyes. Truly Oikawa needs someone like Hinata in his life. The don't even have to date, they just have to be close.
Not only that, volleyball brings Hinata joy and he needs it after what ever is happening at home. I can tell when someone has problems at home considering my family is the way it is and I also heard his little mutter.
The poor boy needs to feel validated to. I know he feels like he's nothing without Kageyama and that hurts so much. Those three are so similar, it's funny really.

Kunimi's POV:
I saw Hinata-san enter with our vice captain. I'm surprised he actually agreed to come being honest. I though he would stand outside and wait but I'm glad he actually came.
He needs to relax and do something he enjoys, and volleyball is one of them. I saw the way he watched us play the other day like he wanted to join us. He was so tense at his house that I feel like he needs it.
I also hope he will end up joining the club. I really want to play by his side, he managed to change the way Kageyama plays he must be good.
Not only that I feel like I have to protect him, just like a brother would. After seeing what Kind of tension appeared at his house I want to do everything to make sure he doesn't go through what I did.

3rd person POV:
Kyōtani automatically realised the small ginger boy sitting down on the bench.
"Ayo, shrimpy or Hinata was it, have you come to work on your serves because if so come here and I'll help you, just get changed first."
"Oh no Kyōtani-senpai I've just come to watch."
"That's boring, even if you're not going to join we can still work on those servers of yours."
"Oh I would love to but I don't have anything to change into."
"I have spare gym clothes" Kunimi said while going up to sit next to Hinata.
"Oh um okay then I guess."
"Oh is chibi-chan playing today?" Oikawa's voice was heard as he entered the gym
"Looks like I am."

-time skip to after the practice-

3rd person POV:
The boys finished practice and they all thanked their coach and headed for the door to get changed and then to go home, except Kunimi, Iwaizumi and Oikawa that all went towards Hinata.
"Chibi-chan how about we all head home together?" Hinata was surprised by this question, nobody went out of their way to walk with him, and in Karasuno nobody could as he rode his bike everyday.
"Um sure but don't you have to get changed."
"Oh no me and Iwa-Chan are going on a run later."
"And me and you Hinata-san have to get that project done."
"Oh yes right, we'll go to my house and I'll wash your clothes and give them back to you tomorrow."
"That's fine with me."
The for boys grabbed their bags and left in the same direction, Hinata started to shiver as ,unlike the other three, he didn't have a jacket.
"Hinata are you okay, your shivering."
"Oh I'm fine Iwaizumi, just a little cold."
"Why didn't you say anything Chibi-chan...

here have my jacket."

Sorry for not posting in so long and I hope this longer chapter makes up for it.

Anyway who should Iwaizumi end up with as Oikawa is of the table and who should Kunimi be with.
