birthday surprises (neil)

just a few months ago i had started working at Tenet Headquarters. it was amazing being here with everyone. ives was like a brother to me, you know annoying yet loving, definitely competitive but funny. i loved my job at Tenet. what i didn't love so much is that neil wasn't working today - my birthday. my own boyfriend can't even come and visit me at our workplace.

as i walked into my office i noticed a bouquet of (your favorite flower) flowers on my desk. i dropped my bag on my desk and started to look for a note to go with the bouquet. finally finding it hidden within the flowers, i picked it up and it read:

good morning love, i'm sorry i can't make it into work to see you today but when you come home i'll make it up to you.

smiling softly at the words on the notecard you sat down and began to fill out some paper work. mindlessly filing the papers all while thinking about your amazing boyfriend neil. he was perfect in your eyes. his tousled blonde hair, his accent, and his body. but if you were honest, his looks were just a plus to his personality. he was smart and personable, so welcoming and caring, not to mention how he was amazing in the field. you were falling in love with this man and you couldn't stop.

you almost didn't realize the time, it was 5:30. you got up and packed your bag - bringing the note with you. as you walked to your car you couldn't help but smile and feel a few butterflies in your stomach.

~ (y/n)'s pov ~

my keys jingled in my hand as i forcefully pushed them into the lock above the handle. i was so excited to see neil today. unsure of what he had planned only made my excitement go up. will these damn keys just- finally. i sighed in content as my door finally unlocked.

"neil?!" i yelled throughout the small house.

my patience was running thin waiting for a response from my boyfriend. "neil honey!? you here?"

"just a minute darling!" he shouted back from my bedroom. oh what has he done.

"can i come in?" i asked sweetly knocking on the bedroom door.

"not yet..." his voice trailed off; he seemed focused on something.

walking into the kitchen i took off my coat and pulled my hair out of the ponytail it was previously in. "hmm what to have...carrots? no. ice cream? may- no. ugh there's nothing good!" i stared at my refrigerator hoping (your favorite food) would somehow appear. nothing. absolutely nothing.

i felt two strong arms wrap around my waist and a heavy head rest on my own. "looking for food love?"

"yes..." i sighed and looked down at neils hands. oh my god those hands. if they would just roam my body- ugh not now (y/n). i mentally cursed myself.

turning around in his arms i looked up at him and pouted. "i missed you."

his blue eyes looked down into my (y/e/c) ones. "well good to know food is your next option!" neil chuckled out.

"oh shut it! you know you come first, unless of course something were to happen to you..." i giggled.

"you think you're so funny, don't you?" neil tickled my sides. "i like to pride myself on it!" i smiled up at him.

"go get changed, we're going out for dinner tonight."

"and where are we going?" i quizzed him.

"that's for me to know and you to find out." he looked at me all of a sudden seriously - eyes locked with my own.

"okay?" i walked towards my room and opened the door.

~ time skip to when you're dressed ~ third person narrator ~

looking into the room neil noticed how beautiful (y/n) looked in the light blue dress he bought for her. the way the fabric was so effortlessly thrown over (y/n)'s body and was pinched at the waist. he couldn't help but bite his lip at the sight of his girlfriend in the mirror. 

as (y/n) sighed in content Neil walked into the room and pulled the girl into his chest. "are you ready darling?" the tall blonde asked while looking down into her (e/c) eyes.

"yes, I just need to put on some heels." (y/n) breathed out. 

(y/n) walked over to her closet debating which pair of heels to wear -- then again, she wasn't much of a fancy shoe kind of girl -- finally picking the small tan heels she walked over to the bench in front of her bed. Neil's phone began to ring as (y/n) was putting her shoes on.

~ neil's pov ~

"Hello?" I spoke into my phone as I waved to (y/n) that this would only be a minute. 

The called turned out to be about the dinner reservations -- the restaurant gave away their spot to a "higher priority" couple. Shaking my head and letting out a frustrated sigh, I hung up the phone. Storming into (y/n)'s bedroom, I wrapped my large arms and engulfed her in a tight hug -- breathing in her scent. 

"Are you alright love?" I asked while pushing the hair away from her neck. 

"Yes, I'm quite alright. What is it Neil?"

"Nothing. The crap they put me through to get what? Nothing, simply the cancelation of our dinner reservations." I spat out

"Oh Neil! We can always do something else, no need to be so dramatic about it!" (y/n) exclaimed as she pulled away from my embrace. 

"Well you're right, love. Seems like you are always right now that I've trained you!" I chuckled out.

"Oi you twat! You think you're just the best of the best." (y/n) teased.

"In fact, I am the best of the best."

"You just love chaos, don't you Neil?"

"I do my love." I leaned my forehead against her own and our lips brushed.

~ (y/n)'s pov ~

"Kiss me." I whispered to Neil. As Neil leaned in fully my eyes fluttered shut feeling his hot breath over my lips before the warm and passionate kiss was planted on my lips.

The kiss soon began to heat up. I was tugging at Neils blonde hair as he started to grip my hips tightly. I pushed my head back to deepen the kiss.

"Forget dinner, I have a better idea." Neil pulled away and started to plant open mouth kisses on my neck. Surely littering my neck in dark purple hickies. "You always do Neil." I panted out.

His kisses only got lower -- kissing my collar bones to the tops of my breasts. "Please Neil." I barely whispered out. Neil was just as needy as he was starting to roll his hips into my own. Oh I just need Neil right now -- anything from him would be amazing. 

"What do you want darling?" Neil practically growled into my ear as I loosened his tie. 

"Shit- I want you to make me yours." I panted out to him, desperate for friction.

Neil kissed my lips hungrily as he tapped my hip bones -- signaling me to jump up. My legs immediately wrapped around his hips as he carried me to the bed. Neil and I had a long night and a birthday I won't forget.
