The purity of spring had slowly started its descent over London

The purity of spring had slowly started its descent over London. It almost seemed like the grass was getting greener already, the sun was warming comfortably, and that summer was around the corner, even though it was only the second day of spring. You wouldn't freeze to death upon walking outside like you did during winter, the sun actually made you feel warmer now when it shone down on you. It wasn't just that annoying glowing bulb in the sky whose only job was giving light to start a new day. No, now it actually felt like the sun was present. Josie hated that. Maybe if she had been thin, she would have liked summer, but she was not.

The South Quad wasn't bustling with life, but there were a few students laying in the grass stretched out around Maud Helmond and some others standing by the walls surrounding the outdoors area. Sounds of London beyond the uni courtyard were still audible, but slightly lessened due to the brick walls that separated them from everything else going on in the capital beyond Helmond. Josie, Mason, Kai, and Harry stood by one of the four walls surrounding the Quad, Josie deliberately having chosen this one because it offered some solace from the sun. The boys did not seem to mind, being too caught up in their conversation and lunch in hand to even care about where Josie took them to eat.

Walking down Mile End Road, the street in which Helmond Uni was on, the four of them had strolled to the Sainsbury's Local across the road from Helmond to buy themselves something to eat. Kai did not find a single thing he wanted there and dragged the other three to Mucci Café on campus. While there, Harry bent down, whispering in Josie's ear, "Kai fancies the barista."

Josie had furrowed her brows, looking back at Mason who stood in line with Kai because he suddenly wanted a heated toastie as well. The tiny white blonde girl that stood behind the counter smiled up at Kai as she took his order, and Josie swore she could see a slight redness to Kai's cheeks as the two talked. Her eyes fell to the girl again, studying her.

"Hmm," Josie hummed. "Not really my type."

Harry chuckled, rubbing his gloved hands together, the matte black leather only barely reflecting the bright lights above them. "Was gonna say."
