September.
Amy was still missing, but Tommy was determined to find his little sister - alive. Even if the Crystal Cove police force stopped searching. They called it after a short investigation and still no Amy found. Adam was spending more and more time with Ralph over the month they searched for the missing girl.
Overall no one but Tommy believed they'd be finding Amy alive. If finding her at all.
Jenny sat in the living room with a book, by the fire. Jason was right, the weather was cooling down significantly. Jenny shivered, pulling the old torn blanked closer up her body.
If out of nowhere Jason emerged with a large thick jacket. He sat down next to the girl and used the jacket as another layer to protect her from the cold. "Thanks." She muttered, clutching the book tighter.
There was no heat for the cabin other than the fireplace they sat in front of now. "How are you not shivering?" She asked moving closer to his body heat. "I-I grew u-up in this." He said rubbing her small arm with his large hand. "Oh."
After a few more moments of Jenny shivering Jason got an idea. The girl squealed when he effortlessly picked her up bridal style, before laying down on the couch. He acted as a cocoon of warmth for the freezing girl.
"B-better?" He asked after a moment. "Yes. Thank you Jason." She whispered, kissing him quickly.
Tommy sped down the road in his sisters jeep, keeping his eyes peeled for anything that could point him in the direction of his sister.
Meanwhile Ralph and Adam were deep in the woods, shot guns ready as they hunted down Jason. Ralph just knew that the man had killed and eaten poor Amy.
"Maybe y-you should g-go into town now f-for new things J-Jenny." Jason said breaking the comfortable silence. "Yea. Any chance you'd go with me?" She asked in a hopeful tone, looking up at the man she loved. Jason only sighed.
"I understand Jason." She said softly. "I-I'll walk w-with you un-until you get out o-of the woods a-and close t-to the town."
About an hour later Jason and Jenny were doing just that. She had the large jacket she had used for a blanket on her small body, it may have looked ridiculous, but she was warm. Jason on the other hand had overhauls, a jacket and his bag. Jenny hated whenever he had the bag on his face, it just hurt her to see him feel so down about his looks and himself.
"Is there anything eles I should get why I'm there?" She asked following along. "Mm whatever y-you think you'd n-need. I can catch most o-of our food." Jenny sighed. Maybe she would buy something that wasn't wild rabbit, squrl or duck. Jason was a great hunter, but she was getting real sick of the same thing over and over for every meal.
In her backpack was a small wallet with quite a lot of money.
And Jason said that he had found the bag when he found her. So Jenny was going to use it get the things they needed. She had gotten some warm clothes and was on her way to another shop, this time for some good food. She hummed a random tune why she walked around the little shop. Finding fresh produce, eggs, milk and even some ingredients to make a few nice dinners. With her arms full from her other shopping and what she planned on buying now, Jenny got in the line. A man in a plaid blue short, with a bandanna aeound his neck stood in front of her and was the second person in line. He turned when Jenny accidentally dropped an apple.
"I-I got it honey." He said noticing her arms full. "Thank you." The man smiled. "My pleasure. I'm Steven Christy." Jenny smiled taking the apple back from Steven. "I'm Jenny." Steven studied her for a moment before moving out of the way. "Lady's first." Jenny smiled and took his old place in the line. "Thank you Steven." The man shook his head. "No need." Just as Jenny was about to ask the man something 'Next' was called.
After the man rang everything up, Jenny dug through her pockets to discover she was five dollars and fifty-two cents short of her bill.
"I'll pay for the rest of it." Steven said stepping closer. "You don't have to do that- I can just put some of it back." Steven scoffed."No point in that. You obviously need everything here. Just let me spot you Jenny." The girl smiled. "Well alright. I wish I coukd do something for you." She said after the full amount was payed. "Actually I'm going to be opening up an old camp ground around this area that I recently inherited. I could use some good camp counselors next summer if your interested?" Jenny smiled. "Its close to here?" She asked holding her bags. "Yep. It's called camp crystal lake." Jenny felt like she knew that name somehow.
"That sounds great. Ill be at the camp next summer." Steven smiled. "Sounds good Jenny."
After a final thank you Jenny walked out of the shop. "AMY!" An unfamiliar voice yelled from across the street. Tommy had just pulled into the old gastation when he spotted his sister. The odd thing was she didn't look at him.
She kept walking, even as Tommy called for her. It finally took his catching up to her and grabbing her shoulder for her to respond to him.
"Amy, thank god!" The girl flinched when he pulled her into a hug. " after he finally let her go she took a few steps away from him, her eyes wode with fear.
"Come on Amy, I know you were upset with me but stop acting like this!" He snapped confused. "I don't know who you are or what you want, but I have to go." Jenny started to walked around the man, but he stopped her by grabbing her arm. "Enough games Any." She gulped, trying to pull her wrist free. "My name isn't Amy- It's Jenny!"
Jenny noticed Steve walking out of the shop and she called for the man. He heard her and dropped his bags, running to help her. "Hands off!" He snapped. "This is my little sister!" Tommy yelled. "I am not!" Jenny screamed. "Now let me go!" She snapped trying to pull free.
Adam and Ralph paused when they noticed smoke. "Thats it boy, that has to be where the monster lives!" Adam gulped. "Maybe we shouldn't trespass. I mean I'd like to not become his next meal."
Jason stood in the woods, waiting for Jenny to come back so they could walk back to the cabin together. He had no idea at at that very moment Jenny was fighting to get away from a man she thought was a stranger, or the fact that two armed men just found his secret cabin in the woods.
