Chapter 1. The Murder

It was currently 11 o'clock at night, the hot June weather not settling but what do you expect Liones wasn't known for being the coolest place.

Elizabeth was currently tossing and turning in her bed trying desperately to fall asleep from both the heat and this unsettling feeling her stomach

She couldn't put her finger on it but something felt off she wasn't quite sure what it was but she didn't think it was good

After finally finding a comfortable spot she was welcoming the long awaited slumber when she heard a object downstairs fall

She sat up immediately and listened she didn't hear anything but decided to get up anyways

She carefully made her way out of her room and too her fathers room

"Father please wake up" she asked as she shook him

"Elizabeth, child what is it?" He asked as he slowly awoke

"I'm not quite sure but I heard a noise downstairs. I think someone's in the house" she whispered

He stared at her in horror when a dark look came over his face

"Go wake Margaret, and Veronica then make your way back to your room and await me."

She listened to her fathers words intensely then gave a curt not and made her way down the hall for her sisters room

She made it to Margaret's room first

"Margaret please hurry wake up someone's in the house"

Margaret quickly woke up "Elizabeth now is not the time for jokes"

"I'm being serious please hurry" she gave her sister a desperate look in hopes she would actually get up

"Eli I-" just then they heard a blood curdling scream come from their father down stairs

Suddenly there was a bang

Tears started to well up in Elizabeth and Margaret's eyes and yet they still didn't get to Veronica yet

Margaret turned Elizabeth towards her "Elizabeth I'll deal with getting Veronica out but you need to  listen to me I want you to run to your room lock the door pack a small bag promise me you'll do this"

"What! No you can't it's to dangerous I've already lost mother and father not you too!" Elizabeth yelled out

"ELIZABETH please just promise me!" Margaret yelled out

"Okay I promise you please just be safe I love you" with one final glance Elizabeth ran towards her room and shut her door then locked it

~switching to Elizabeth's POV(point of view)~

As I shut my door and locked it the tears started falling just minutes ago my life was normal now it's a race against the clock for my life

I quickly grabbed a bag and started packing all the clothes and necessities that I would need

I glanced at the earring Margaret, Veronica and I all had I quickly put it on and wished we would soon see each other again

I threw on my shoes and jacket then opened my window with one final prayer that I would survive the night I jumped out

I fell to the ground in injured surprisingly and ran as I was running I heard the sound of a gun going off I glanced at my house in horror not knowing what had happened

The further I got from my house the more worried I became but I couldn't stop now I had to keep my promise to Father and Margaret

After what feels like and hour of running I managed to get to the forest which is on the outskirts of Liones

"Please be safer that's all I wish for" I whispered out by now I was extremely tired and exhausted I could barley move without pain

I slowly started walking through the forest I looked up and saw a small tavern up ahead

I walked a little further and knocked on the door but no one answered

I sat down and leaned on the door sleep becoming me to come

I rubbed my eyes and couldn't stay awake any longer I was far too exhausted

Just before I fully fell asleep I saw a flash of light appear and a person emerge

They said something but I couldn't hear it as I fell asleep

Hi so yea sorry for not updating i originally was just gonna quite writing all together as I had a major creativity burn out but recently got back into it and as I was rereading old chapters to continue it was major cringe and I just couldn't so I decided I'll restart I know I'm so so sorry your all probably not happy but for me to even get to the point of finishing the book I headed to restart the ikr plot was horribly put together. This will make it much easier to flow with what I had in mind for the ending and it's meant to be more of a horror book then just "oh her family's dead loveydovey time" I hope you can all understand if you don't understandable I made you all wait over a year and restarted also I'm writing on my phone so if the layouts weird I apologize. Also next chapter will be 1,000+ words to read of story so please give me a little bit of a chance thank you!
