in the end, kun left a single fried egg on the table after eating his dinner. he hoped the other would not come to the kitchen and just stay wherever he was holed up after getting out of his office,  but of course, ten would absolutely do the exact opposite of what kun hoped he would. he left the fried egg just in case, so the other would stop being a fucking thorn on his side all night.

he had to go back to his office after to finish his paperworks.

ten was already on the bed when kun decided to retire for the day. he groaned loudly, making sure the other knew of his displeasure with his presence.

"get off my bed."

but ten made sure to stretch all his limbs as far as he can get to show kun that he's not going anywhere. the older clenched his jaw to calm himself and have patience with the very immature vampire that was lying on his bed with a smirk.

"woah– first, thank you for the egg. it's good to know that you still have a conscience, although the egg was a complete downgrade from what you used to make me. and second, why do i need to get out? we're roommates."

"there are hundreds of rooms in this fucking house."

"and we can save resources by sharing one. the economy is experiencing a recession, think about the electricity we're forcing out of mother earth."

kun did not see the fucking logic. "get out."

ten hogged all the blankets. "why? it's cool, we're cool. i don't understand why you're being so pressed –unless you still have feelings for me and you don't trust yourself to keep your hands away all day while we sleep in the same bed. i'm aware that i'm quite the delicious vampire, but you don't need to kick me out for it."

ten's eyes crinkled in delight as kun's eyebrows shot up at the absurdity. hearing all that almost made his ears bleed.

"i'd die first before i lay a finger on you. you fucking disgust me."

he heard ten scoff but he went straight to the bathroom for a quick shower. he needed to get his mind off the thoughts of murdering his ex boyfriend who was being an absolute menace.

as the water hit his pale white skin, he thought about the conclave and the runes that he still needed to set up and the buildings he needed to ward. he thought about his friends whom he haven't seen for so long. he wondered how his family was doing. his mind drifted to the humans outside of the cross.

and ten.

rain poured abundantly on a summer night, hitting their bodies in a delicate dance. the manor looked majestic from the distance. the flowers in the moon garden depicts the promise of a sweet, sweet tour.

two people walked hand in hand on the wet grass of the manor's magnificent garden, smiling as they exchanged stories in hushed tones. they looked very much in love –and they were, until they weren't, but that is a story for another time.

"do you know why it is raining today?"

"why?"

"because of you."

"me?"

"yes."

"ah, maybe the heavens were crying with joy for me."

"no, they're crying because they saw your face and it made them disgusted."

the older let out a startled laugh, registering the taunt that the other directed at him. he was used to bickering, it was how they expressed themselves around each other.

"then it must be very hard for you, having to put up with this disgusting face for the rest of your life."

the other laughed, his head tipping upwards and eyes crinkling with mirth, and the man stood there– drenched and cold and utterly in love– wondering how someone can be as beautiful and breathtaking as the being before him.

"thank heavens that you can cook. i would've abandoned you before even knowing your name if you didn't have your only charm."

"then you should've chosen to be with a chef with bearable looks," he prodded.

"hmm...alright, i'll admit. i quite like your face too. i like it very much, in fact."

"just my face?" he teased.

"mmmm, i like your thighs too. and your back, and your hands. and your c–"

kun slapped his face. his sanity must have been slipping away.

he immediately got out of the bathroom and into his dresser. he sees ten's clothes integrated with his own shirts. this must be why the other was taking his clothes and wearing them for himself. because he couldn't bloody organize his belongings.

when he came back out, fully dressed and ready for bed, he found ten wrapped in his blanket with only his face showing. he poked his hand out of the cocoon and tapped on kun's side of the bed, telling him to lie down now. kun fought his rising temper. he is not a dog that needs to be told what and what not to do. he went to bed without a word however and ten's smile was something he chose not to see.

"i'm so excited for tomorrow," ten stated when they've both settled to their comfortable positions. he ignored him, the sun was already high up and kun was looking forward to sleep now. he turned on his side facing away from the younger and attempted to sleep.

"are you not going to ask me why i'm excited for tomorrow?"

"i don't really care," kun mumbled. he could almost imagine the other sporting a pout that is so annoying.

silence ensued shortly after, and when kun was finally about to succumb to a peaceful slumber, he was jolted awake by the feeling of a finger drawing patterns on his back. he tried to ignore it, focusing on sleeping. he will never admit it, but it felt calming.

"i miss them," he heard ten whisper. he did not tell him who he was pertaining to and he did not ask, but he felt like they both knew the answer.

ten nearly dropped his cup of coffee when he met kun's rage-filled eyes. he was sitting on one of the chairs in the meeting hall in the high council's headquarters, just across a very angry-looking qian kun who was glaring daggers at him.

the older had been quiet the whole time they've been reintroduced to each other as coworkers twenty minutes ago.

ten averted his gaze as he took a sip from his cup. he grew nervous.

"vampire chittaphon, you will work in the interior office with angel taemin and the rest of the council. there are quite a lot of arrangements that we have not made yet but i am sure that we can count on you to do an excellent job again."

ten rolled his eyes internally. three months before the conclave and still a lot of things to fix? damn, they're slow. luckily, he's a vampire.

out of good grace, he smiled at the warlock, wonho, who was the acting secretary.

"i'll do my best."

wonho smiled back at him. "suho will be glad to see you again."

he immediately tensed at the statement and his perfect smile faltered a little. he sneaked a glance on the man directly opposite him, but kun's face only showed indifference.

"that was a long time ago," he said, still smiling.

"four hundred years, is it? i don't think he forgot."

ten's smile hinted a threat. wonho knows what he's playing at and ten is not ready for such games so early in the night. he exhaled a sigh as he fiddled on the burning candle wax and turned away from the warlock to show that he's not up for conversations anymore.

"shame."
