A land adjacent the kingdom of Dallas was a free town of magic and illusions protected by a sphere encapsuling the whole town.
Occassionally, there are people who can go in the sphere freely and it seems like one of the princes of Dallas is a part of the few. He often visits a girl in the town who acknowledged him and became hus friend.
"Do your parents know that you go here every other rise of the sun?" The young girl asked the little prince.
The prince continued playing with the sand while he responded, "My parents don't believe my words... They think that I am a heretic!"
The girl didn't understand what he meant so she asked, "Heretic?"
"They think that I am broken in the head." The little prince shrugged. It did not cross his mind the fact that this friend of his is disconnected from the outside world and thus, did not get the proper education for her age.
This continued on for years and the girl's family accepted him as family like everyone else in the town. Another, named Delmont, was an addition to their friendship and he was welcomed with delight.
"How come we can never visit you?" Delmont asked, as they walked with baskets of sticks and fruits on their hands.
"It's because my father and my mother do not know of my whereabouts. They only know that I leave one the sun rises and come back by the fall." The prince responded.
"But will there be a day that we visit you too?" The little girl asked, munching on an apple.
"Soon... Soon enough..." The prince finished the conversation with words he never knew would change everything.
Once the prince was escorted back into the plaza, Delmont stayed with the girl, watching the sun set on their roof. They held hands and they told stories under the moonlight. The girl's eyes sparkled like amethysts under the moonlight and Delmont loved it. He loved her and she to him.
"Why did you ask if we can visit him?" The girl asked Delmont.
"Ah... It's just I want to see how a prince lives... I want to understand why he finds this place as a place of escapism." Delmont responded truthfully.
"I see..." The looked away from her love, she sighed, "What do you think of the place we have now?"
Delmont looked at her, "What do you mean?"
"You imagine the extravagant castle as if this place is nothing but a pit for pigs." She explained.
Delmont held her close to him and apologized, "I'm sorry if I offended you... But you have to understand that we shouldn't offend the pigs either." They both snicked then the girl pushed him away as they both slowly laughed, she told him, "Are you saying that the palace is nothing like a pigpen and the castle is actually worse?!"
Delmont shushed her, putting his finger in front of her face, "Shush!!! The royalty will hear you!"
They laughed at their jokes that lavish people, such as Prince River would never understand. They were content with what they have though they had nothing compare to the wealthy. They did have magic, something that only their people and their sister towns possess.
On the dinner table, they sat and ate yet a question lingered in her mind, "Why are we hiding?"
"Hiding?" Her mother asked her.
"We are one of the most powerful towns in this whole world, yet we do not try to take the power from those who have none." She explained.
"Exactly why we don't... Because our magic is power and those who don't possess it are powerless, how can we take something that they didn't initially have?" Her mother threw the question back at her.
