2016

It was like every eye in the room was following Harry. He hadn’t thought about what kind of reaction he would cause by walking over to Taylor in the middle of the AMA’s. Well, technically, it was a commercial break; he wasn’t breaking any award show rules or anything. He saw heads whipping in his direction as he passed by heading to where she was. It had been almost four years since they had met, three years since they had broken up. Still, for whatever reason, their friendship attracted national attention.

Taylor looked up from her phone when she heard sudden silence only disrupted by little whispers. She thought someone important had walked on stage but when she looked around she only saw Harry walking towards her. She let the weird silence surrounding her slip from her mind as she stood closing the short distance between him. She pulled him in for a hug and he kissed her cheek.

“We really are the foxes, huh?” he said smirking.

“What are you talking about?” she asked, confused.

He leaned closer to her putting a hand on her waist and whispering in her ear, “Everyone is looking at us,” he said before leaning back and nodding with his head back towards the audience. Taylor moved her head slowly before snapping it back to him. People had paused in mid-conversation to watch them.

“I feel like I’m missing something, is my dress on backwards?” she said rubbing her hands down the front. She had been so excited about the low front since it was sexier than her usual dresses but if she was wearing it backwards she would be mortified. Harry’s eyes grazed down the front of her body, way slower than necessary.

“Uh, no, I don’t think so,” he said slowly, clearing his throat. He appreciated the low front too. “I think people are just curious about us talking.”

“God, what do they expect? Like, I’d kick you in the balls with my heel or something?” she said.

“Please, dear god, don’t do that,” he said over his laughter imagining the audience’s reaction if she actually did.

“Careful, Styles, I might. I’m wild. I haven’t been with a man in so long, some say I have turned my sexual frustration into physical aggression,” she said leaning in closer to him. He looked blankly at her blinking a couple of times. She shrugged her shoulders; “I read it on Twitter this morning.”

“Well, if I don’t stop sexualizing women and sleeping with everyone I meet, I’m going to have to go to rehab. Like, sex addiction rehab,” he said raising his eyebrows.

Taylor nodded seriously, “Harry, I’ve heard about that. Oh, sorry, I mean I read a tweet about it.”

“I didn’t even know sex rehab was a thing but I guess I’m going,” he said laughing as ushers swept through the aisles directing people back to their seats before the show started again.

“Listen,” Taylor said putting a hand on his forearm, “Come to my house after this and we can drink away problems. Unless you have plans with Nancy, Megan, Paige, Nadine, or Carlie?”

Harry rolled his eyes running his tongue along the bottoms of his top teeth, still smiling, “You’re funny,” he said pointing at her and backing away. “Swift’s got jokes, regular comedian over here,” he said still pointing and shaking his head at her. She laughed and gave him a thumbs up before returning to her seat.

She pulled out her phone, So, are you coming over after?

He responded almost immediately, duh.
