"Chaeryeong!!! Wake up already! It's time to go to school!"
As Chaeryeong opened her eyes and faced her older sister, Lee Chaeyeon who stood in the middle of her room and looked at her while getting dressed up, she sat upright on her bed and blinked several times to keep herself awake, but instead just fell back asleep.
"Yah!!! Hey Chaeryeong, get up already or do you want to come late to school?!" Her sister angrily said. "Just because I am older than you doesn't mean that I always have to act like your mom. Come on, girl, get your ass together!"
"Yeah, yeah. It's alright I am listening, Chaeyeon. Please, just stop shouting." Chaeryeong yawned while putting her hand in front of her mouth.
Chaeyeon just rolled her eyes over her sister's childishness and left the room. "Just don't blame me when you get late to school, ok? I will go first then, bye sis."
But Chaeryeong couldn't think about school now. Like always the only thing she was thinking about was her, her crush. Just about before waking up, she was once again appearing in her dreams and so the young girl was once again sad that her dream ended too fast. Even after sitting at the table and eating breakfast now, she kept thinking about her. Slowly Chaeryeong tried to focus on her day and prepared herself for school, dressed up in her uniform and was now ready to go outside.
Usually the two Lee sisters would go to school together, but obviously that didn't happen today. On her way, she thought about what she should do in school, which club and classes she should visit and how fast last year just went by. "Just a bit too fast." She thought too herself, as a loud voice from far away shouted her name.
"Hey, Chaeryeong, is that you? Let's go together to school!"
Chaeryeong turned around, just to face the girl with short blond hair who ran in full speed towards her. She was a bit shorter than herself and was wearing a black t-shirt with a blue jacket, grey shorts and nike sports shoes.
"Hey, what's up? Did you miss me?" The shorter girl asked in a flirty manner.
"Missed you? Why should I? We just talked over the phone two days ago. And by the way, are you once again not wearing your school uniform, Ryujin?" Chaeryeong pointed out.
"Well, kinda but uhmm..."
"You know that you are breaking the school rules."
"Well, not exactly 'cause I am part of the basketball club it does make sense that I have to wear my sport outfit for training, so I guess it's alright." Ryujin shrugged off without paying it much attention.
Chaeryeong rolled her eyes. "Silly. You really are a troublemaker, you know?"
"And you know, you are really just like my mom, Ryeongchae." Ryujin teasingly said. "Forget about that thing, I would prefer to hear what you did during the summer vacations. So?"
Yeah, that's right. The summer holidays just ended for the two of them and so their first school day as second years started. For everyone it's in some way the same kind of feeling, a kind of mixed feeling during summer holidays and the time after them. They say, you get easily bored. They say, you should enjoy them as much as possible. They say, you will miss school. And so, it was similar to what Chaeryeong felt, even though it doesn't exactly hit the point.
She more overly missed a very specific person, a very important person to her. And those thoughts and feelings of hers kept messing with her mind. She was thinking about her a lot, but of course she couldn't tell Ryujin because first of all: She still wasn't outed and also didn't want her coming out to happen that fast. She felt safe just knowing it for herself. Chaeryeong had just found out last year that she liked girls when she fell for that girl. First, it did took its time to comprehend it, but eventually she accepted her sexuality for herself which already was a huge step towards her desired future.
