Once upon a time, there was a baby.

Her name was Raven, after the majestic blackbirds of the night. Her mother a greedy woman, she wished to have a beautiful daughter, a daughter that would bring her wealth. Stacks of gold, jewels, and coins.

Her older sister, Dove, was as fair as Raven was dark. Dove, the radiant sun, as she was known. With her beautiful light blonde hair and blue eyes, creamy white skin. The beauty of the village.

Raven, the moon, as she was called. Her blue-black hair, falling in straight black waves down her back, her navy blue eyes and pale skin.

The only similarity that Raven and Dove shared was their pale skin, which they inherited from their mother. Dove took after their mother in many ways, her beauty, but also her want to be a rich lady.

Raven took after their father, calm and silent.

When Raven was 8, her father passed away, leaving Raven and Dove to the mercy of their mother. Food was hard to come by, and money was stretched thin.

Their mother could barely put food on the table, having to work many jobs in the village. Dove helped their mother, since she was 12, and could work. After a year, Raven left her studies to help her mother and sister.

When she was 12, she worked in the village for a seamstress, and learned how to improve her skills in sewing. Dove became a ladies-maid, and their mother took a break.

Raven and Dove stored money away in case of an emergency, and their mother spent it on fancy jewelry, silk underclothes, nice smelling perfume.

Eventually, their stash of money dwindled to nothing.

And the family fell on hard times again.

Money became hard to come by, and Dove was accused of stealing. Dove left Raven and their mother for a new life, talking the rest of the money with her.

She asked Raven to come with her, to start fresh, but Raven remained behind. Their mother passed away several months later after Dove had left.

Dear Dove,

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but for the present, I am. Mother has passed away, and I am still in hard times. At times like these, I believe that sisters should be together.

Which is why I need you here. Life has become, very hard for the time being. I can't seem to make enough money, and many days I grow hungry.

Which is why I ask for you to come back, to help me. I miss you very much, and I wish you were beside me, with one of your stories.

-Yours, Raven

Several weeks later with no response from Raven, there was a knock on the door. She ran to open it, and found her sister.

"Dove!" She cried, and fell into her older sister's arms. "Raven." Murmured Dove into her hair. "I miss you so," Dove said.

As Raven made dinner, she learned that her sister had left their village for the city, where she met Raymond, and she had earned his family's approval, and they were wed several weeks later. Then, several months later, Dove got Raven't letter, and they arranged for the move to her home town.

Raymond brought his younger brother, Derek, and Raven fell in love with him. When Raven realized that life in her village was not meant for her, she left with Dove and Raymond, to the city. Where she learned that Raymond was the heir to the throne, but had handed the crown to Derek.

After her move to the city, Raven fit into life there very nicely.

Several years later, Derek married Raven, and she became his Queen. "My Queen of Ravens." He would whisper to her late at night, when the castle was quiet.

But not all love lasts forever.

One night Raven heard voices in Derek's chambers. She looked in to find a mass of blankets, and two figures. Hayete, and Derek. Laying side by side.

Her heart broke into pieces at the very site, and she fled the scene.

Several months later, she learned the news that Hayete was expecting a child. And the baby's father was none other than Derek himself.

The baby was born several months later, a girl. During the period leading up to the time of the birth of the Lady Princess, Raven left the palace, since she was expecting a child as well.

When she returned to the palace, 8 months already, she demanded that the child be named Raven, after her.

When Hayete refused, the anger that had been building up within Raven, like an angry monster, waiting to be unleashed, Raven unleashed it.

Darkness poured from her chest, and enveloped Hayete. Derek entered the room, and saw the darkness wrap around Hayete, closing her off from view.

"Raven!" He screamed. She ignored him, letting the darkness keep circling Hayete. The little girl in the cradle cried out, and Derek rushed to her and cradled her in his arms.

The darkness rushed to Raven, and circled her.  Hayete collapsed in a heap on the ground, barely breathing.

Derek ran to her, covering her body with his. "Don't!" He screamed. Raven waved her hand, and Derek's body was slammed against the wall.

Hayete looked up, and cowered at the sight of Raven standing above her, the darkness surrounding her.

Raven lifted her hand, and her hair started to float above her. She started to float above Hayete. Derek started screaming, and guards filed into the room.

She waved her hand at them, and vines shot out of the ground and pushed them onto the wall. Her hand crackled with black magic. She looked down at Hayete with immense hate, and then blasted her.

Hayete shuddered as the magic entered her body and killed her, and then she fell silent. Derek screamed, and Raven waved her hand at him, and vines covered his mouth.

The baby flew into Raven's arms as the castle exploded around them. Killing Derek, and injuring many people.

Raven fled the scene, the baby in her arms. Swan, she named the baby. Raven gave birth to a son several months later, Derek, she named him, after his father.

Swan grew into a miny Hayete, reminding Raven of what she had done.

Many years later, Raven fell in love again.

And just like everything that happens, history repeated itself. She saw her husband and a maid together, and the darkness killed him and the maid.

After she had killed her second husband and an innocent maid, she changed into a raven and dissaperead.

Swan was crowned Queen, the Lady Queen.

So whenever you see a raven, it could be Raven. The Raven Queen, she is know called. Just the other day I saw a raven, maybe it was my old friend, or one of her children.

Silly me! Raven found love, and is now mated for life. She also has a nice batch of raven children.

I am an old woman, seen lots, and with this story now written down, I may rest.
