Ava's pov:

Ava sat in her room reading a book. The book she had chosen to read today was Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. They were reading peacefully when all of a sudden, they heard a knock on the door. They called, "Come in!".

"Hey, did you see this email from your school?" their mom asked as she walked in the door.

She held out her phone for Ava to see. Ava took it and began to read the email to see what it said. They skimmed the beginning, which did not reveal any dramatic news; it was mostly just updates on what sporting events were happening that week. They were sure that the news their mom had come to tell them was not that the basketball practice that had been planned for Thursday had been cancelled. She wasn't even on the basketball team. She scrolled down further, looking for the news that had put such an excited expression on her mother's face.

She finally found it. She sees that their school will be welcoming a new student. She wondered vaguely why something like that would happen in the middle of the year.

They suddenly realized that they hadn't checked what this new student's name was. She took the phone back and checked. The new student was listed as Christabelle, Olivia. What a pretty name.

Oli's pov:

Oli sat in her room reading a book. The book she had chosen to read today was Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. She was reading peacefully when all of a sudden, she heard a knock on the door. She called, "Come in!".

She was a bit upset that her dad, who had just walked into the room, had interrupted her reading. She was at a particularly good part of the book, in which George and Fred (she thought it was sad that everyone always said Fred's name first) were making fun of Harry for the fact that everyone thought he was the heir of Slytherin. Oli liked that George and Fred were thoughtful enough to try and make Harry feel better through humor, even if some people did not always find their humor amusing.

Oli thought about the new school she would be attending. She was nervous but she was excited to make as many new friends there as possible.

She then turned to her dad. "What's up?" She asked. He moved to sit down on the bed, looking serious.

She wondered what he was going to say.
