Juliette moved around her room, packing for her sixth year at Hogwarts. It always put butterflies in her stomach when she got to go back and see her friends because summers were just too long without them. Of course, she never got away from her brother being in the same circle of friends but he was tolerable. She definitely wasn't as mischievous and obnoxious as her brother, James but she definitely was not a saint by any means. The mischief started the day they were sorted into the same house and it only grew when their unbreakable group was formed. Juliette didn't know how she would've gotten through Hogwarts without them. It would've been quite boring that's for sure.
Juliette closed her trunk and smiled. Everything was packed, her broom and Quidditch robes were neatly tucked away and the only thing left was to make sure Nero, her black Persian cat made it on the train with her. She was just about to roll everything out the door when James came bounding in with a smile on his face.
"What's all that smiling for?" she said skeptically as she dropped the handle of her trunk seeing as her brother was in her path.
"I thought you'd like some company," he said with a laugh and before Juliette could ask what he meant, Sirius came bursting through the door.
"Padfoot!" Juliette screamed before wrapping her arms around her best friend. He truly was one of her favorite people that walked the earth and sometimes her and James would bicker about who Sirius truly cared for more.
"Kit, I missed you," Juliette hugged him tighter at the sound of her nickname. Last year, they finally mastered their Animagus forms to help Remus with his transformations and their forms couldn't fit them better: James as a stag, Peter as a rat, Sirius as a dog and Juliette as a fox. Of course, they aren't letting people know that there were 4 unregistered Animagi at Hogwarts. That would definitely get them all thrown into Azkaban.
"Alright, if we don't break this up soon, we will miss the train," James laughed and Sirius let go of Juliette only to grab her trunk.
"I can carry my own trunk, Pads."
He shook his head and laughed. "Not if you're going to find that cat before your Mum leaves us."
Juliette sighed. He was right. Nero was a good cat for the most part but the second he knew he had to be transported, he would hide. Luckily, Juliette knew his favorite spots. That blasted cat had made her mum threaten to leave without her every year since she started school at Hogwarts.
Juliette moved downstairs and under the bottom steps to see if that's where he had scurried off to and sure enough when she bent down, she found a sleeping black ball of fur under the second step. She reached her hand in and wriggled him out while he let out an opposing mew. "Shut it, Nero. You know you'd rather be at school with me and James then here with Mum." she said dusting off the cobwebs that he had accumulated whilst hiding. He finally settled in her arms as she moved towards the door. By the time she had made it to the car, everything had been packed away.
"See you got the demon a little quicker this time," James teased and Juliette rolled eyes as she got into the car sliding into the middle which put her between Sirius and James.
The ride to the station had been an uneventful one. Most of the things that had happened during the summer, the other party knew about through letters. There were a few untold ones but James and Juliette weren't letting some of their misdeeds slip out in front of their parents.
By the time they had gotten to the platform, it was swarming with parents dropping off their young wizards. The twins had convinced their parents to say goodbye at the car, how they were still boggled.
"Hopefully Remus or Peter has secured our car. This place is swarming,"James said as they moved through the sea of parents and young wizards towards the train.
"Seeing as Moony is the only one of us usually on time to anything, I'd say our outlook is good," Juliette chimed in, holding Nero to her chest as he tried to wriggle around.
"You sound like a fortune cookie," Sirius teased, earning a shove from Juliette and a snicker from James.
They finally made it to their train car and sure enough, Remus was sitting there, his nose in a book. As they opened the door, his head popped up and a crooked smile appeared on his face. "About time, you showed up. At this point, I was afraid you were missing the train this time," he said as they filed in. Juliette plopped next to Remus and Sirius followed suit whilst James sat across on the other bench.
"Where's Wormtail?" James asked and Remus shrugged but sure enough he popped in seconds after, his blonde hair disheveled.
"Get in a fight with a badger or what, mate?" Sirius said as Peter sat himself by James.
"I'm lucky I made it on the train at all. I couldn't find half my things," he said and the group laughed.
"Well you definitely were late if Prongs and Kit made it here before you," Remus teased which earned an eye roll from both Potter twins. It was true though, neither of them were very punctual. They both were exceptional in many classes but being on time to said classes usually wasn't the case. That was unless Remus made sure they were, which he usually did and Juliette was grateful for. She hadn't mentioned it to anyone but she had been head over heels for Remus since year 3. Of course, there were rumors that started going around that she and Sirius were shacking up which they thought was hilarious. Sirius was like having a second James but girls can't just be friends with boys apparently.
The train ride was a lot of catching up and missed stories they didn't tell between letters. They also discussed the next full moon which was in a week. They were fully prepared this year for Remus's furry little problem since the rest of them were Animagi and they had finished their map at the end of last year which took a lot of work for it to work properly. The boys definitely had an easier time sneaking out with them all being in the same dormitory but Juliette always told them they needed the head start anyway.
By the time they had gotten off the train and walked towards The Great Hall, they were in full swing talking about hexes and jinxes, their voices lowering as they spotted Professor McGonagall. She had her eye on The Marauders and for good reason. They definitely were a mischievous bunch and the Potter twins alone were enough to make you keep an eye out.
As they sat at the Gryffindor table, Juliette smiled. She knew this was going to be a good year. Her friends and this school were definitely her favorite things and she was ready to enjoy every minute of it. She had promised herself a lot of things this year. She wanted to make sure her marks were high, continue to give her brother a run for his money on the Quidditch pitch, and hopefully tell Remus her feelings before the year was over. It would be hard to meet all of her goals but Juliette Potter never stepped away from a challenge.
