You storm to you room with tears streaming down your face. You had gotten into ANOTHER fight with your mother and it ended like it usually did.. Her yelling names at you until you were in tears. You tumble and belly flop onto your bed, sobbing. You wish you could run away anywhere. To just leave and be free forever and not have to worry about anything. You sit up and pull your knees into your chest, setting your head on your knees with your eyes closed, taking deep breaths to stop crying. As you sit in your room with the lights off, you look up and watch the shadows on your wall slowly stretch. The sun is going down outside and is casting a gorgeous purple/orange glow through your window into your room. You get up walk over to your window, opening it and leaning out, feeling the wind dry your tears. You watch a flock of birds outside fly by and lay your head down on your crossed arms. "I need to get away." You muttered to yourself, wishing you had wings to fly away with as well. As you think to yourself in anger, you then feel a soft tap on your arm. You lift your head up quickly to see nothing-or no one- there.
"Hello...?" You ask, leaning farther out the window. You feel a tug on your hair and whip around to see who is taunting you. "Who's there?" You exclaim, scanning the room with your eyes. You hear the ringing of a bell outside your window and quickly turn to look, seeing a little creature on your window sill. Almost just a cloud of gold sparkles, you bend down to get a closer look at her. You gasp as you see a small girl with wings shouting in a voice like the ringing of a bell. A fairy? You must be dreaming. "What's wrong?" You gently ask her. She spun around to look at you and began to chatter away, pointing out the window frantically. You giggled at how adorable she was. "I don't understa-"
"Tink!" You then hear a voice from outside call. "Tinker bell! Where are you?!" You then see a beam of light then zip past your window. You gasp and lean out to look at the beam, Tinker Bell landing on your shoulder. Tink calls for the beam of light (or at least that's what you assume she is saying) and your heart begins to speed up. Your grandmother had always told you stories about an immortal boy named Peter Pan and his best friend Tinker Bell. You realise now that even if this was a dream, you were about to meet a mystical boy. You suddenly see a cloud of sparkly dust in front of you and settle, revealing a boy who was quite familiar, even though you had never met. Red, shaggy hair hang above his freckled, upturned nose. He looks exactly like the story described him. His wide eyes looked into yours, shining. "Well, hello."
"Hello." You greet, shocked and disbelieving at what was happening.
"Looks like you found Tinker Bell." Peter smile, putting his hand out for Tink to jump on to.
"Well, more like she found me." You giggle.
"Huh, I wonder why she led me to you... She usually only looks for sick kids or people in danger. Sorry to bother you, she must just have got confused." Tinker Bell leans over and whispers into his ear. "What?" he whispers back, "Are you sure?" Peter turns back to you and pulls a small pouch out of his pocket. "Well, looks like she was right about you." Peter pulls the string on the pouch and pours what looks like glitter over your head, causing you to sneeze.
"Wait, how do you know my name-" Peter cuts you off as he leaps into your room and scoops you up in his arms, causing you to blush. Tinker Bell flitters around you two as Peter hops onto the window sill. "No, Peter! Wait!" You hang tightly around his neck as he leaps out the window. Closing your eyes, you shake in Peter arms, terrified, and feel almost like you are flying.
"Open your eyes!!" He says in your ear.
You hesitantly open your eyes and yelp, seeing how far up you are, causing Peter to chuckle. You feel him start to release his arms from around you and-amidst your protest and frightened screams- he lets you go, except for your hand that you're still clutching tightly. Looking at the ground below you and feeling the wind in your face, your fear is quickly replaced by excitement and adrenaline. You begin to laugh hysterically. "Peter, this is amazing!" You exclaim, letting go of his hand. "Come catch me!" You do a U-turn in the air and fly in the opposite direction, leaving a golden trail in your wake. You and Peter begin to chase each other around trees and buildings and fly high above the city long until the sun goes down. He sometimes chasing you , and you sometimes looking for him. At last, you fly to the highest abandoned building and sit on a window sill. Smiling as Peter comes and lands beside you. The two of you watch, tired and out of breath, as Tinker Bell flies quickly all over the sky, writing words in light for the two of you.
Peter says, looking at you. "Why did Tink lead me to you?" You sigh and begin to tell Peter everything. Peter, as silly as he is supportive and you soon find yourself talking to him like you have known him your whole life. After hours of talking, the clock tower in your city strikes midnight. You hear the jingling of bells in a sweet tune and realise that it is Tinker Bell singing.
"What's she doing?" You ask, giggling.
"Well, she's singing, silly. She does that when it's time to go back to Neverland." He replied, getting up and reaching his hand towards you. "But, will you first have this dance with me before the night ends?"
"Why, of course." You curtsey on the windowsill and take his hand, letting him pull you into the air and spin you around. You are thankful that there is no floor since you have two left feet. You just laugh and hum along to Tinker Bell's tune as Peter spins you around the night sky, leaving golden footprints in the air. When the song ends, you and Peter come to a stop outside your bedroom window.
"Please come back to Neverland with me..." Peter says, resting his forehead on yours.
"I can't..." You whisper back, thinking of your mother and your friends.
"Please."
"I'm sorry." You reply, sadly, stepping backwards into your window. Peter hovers outside it and looks at you sadly, holding your hands. "Peter, is this a dream?" He replies by pressing his lips quickly onto yours, taking you by surprise.
Peter smiles when he pulls away and pulls something out of his pocket and pressing it into your palm. "If you ever change your mind. You know the way." You look down at your hand to see a pouch full of pixie dust. Then he flies off in a blaze of light as you hear his words echo. "Second star to the right... And straight on 'till morning!"
