(22) "She Said Yes"

Two months later

Bucky came home from class and practice to find Harlow in the shower.

"Well hello.." he said 

"Hey.." she said as he joined her. 

"When we are done. I want you to get all dolled up cause I'm taking you out for dinner and a surprise.." he said as he wrapped his arms around her waist.

She kissed him he moaned. "Mmm baby doll I made us reservations we can't be late.." he whispered as she dropped to her knees. 

"Ah god yeah..mmm Harlow baby.." he said 

It didn't take long before he was coming undone she stood back up rinsed out her mouth. 

"I will definitely return the favor later." He said as he kissed her. 

"Mm love you.." she whispered 

"Love you too." He said as she stepped out of the shower. 

Harlow got all dolled up she has Shelly curl the ends of her hair for her. She could tell Shelly knew something but wasn't saying anything. Once they were both ready they headed to dinner at the Lobster House. They enjoyed their meal and dessert after they finished. Bucky drove them out to Myrtle Beach. 

They walked along the beach as the sun was settling. He finally stopped them. 

"Harlow Blakely Cooper..I'm crazy head over heels in love with you. Seven damn months with you and I can't imagine my life without you in it. I feel it in my heart that I was suppose to find you that I was drawn to you. Our love story started with two broken hearts that we have stitched back together but I believe that we stitched them to each other. I don't want anyone else I know in my heart that it's you. You are my meant to be the stars aligned for me to find you baby. Now I want to make sure that I don't lose you." He said as he held her hands. 

Bucky let go of her hands he reached into his pants pocket. He dropped to one knee as he opened the box. 

"Marry me Harlow?" He said as he revealed a blue sapphire ring. 

She gasped as tears fell. "Yes..yes yes." She said as she wiped tears.

Bucky slid the ring on her finger he stood back up. They shared a kiss as he picked her up she wrapped her legs around him. They were both all smiles as they continued to kiss. They got selfie of her flashing her ring as they stood on the beach. 

They sent it out to family first with the attached message "She said Yes!" 

When they got back to the house everyone was waiting when they got inside Harlow screamed. "We are engaged!" Both of them still all smiles the boys came over to Bucky first hugged him and fist bumps. While the girls gushed over the ring. 

That night as they were laying in bed. "Where did you get this?" She said as she wiggled her fingers. 

He smiled as he looked down at her. "Eugenie..she had the band restored. But it was her mother's engagement ring. When I told her that I had your dad's blessing she said she had a ring for me she just needed to polish it up." He said 

She kissed him as she held his cheek. "I love you." She said 

"I love you gorgeous.." he said 

The next morning at breakfast Carol was scrolling through her newsfeed.

"Maxie had her baby yesterday. It is a..girl. They named her Eliana Marissa Towns. And oh look he was there.." Carol said 

"Explains why he wasn't at practice or class yesterday." Clint said as he ate his cereal. 

"Yeah wonder how that happened.." Steve said 

"According to her post. She had a c section..baby was wrapped up in the cord." Peggy said as she read her phone. 

"So Barnes gets engaged. And they have their adulteress baby." Shelly said 

"Who got the better end of the breakup I did." Bucky said as he kissed his bride to be. 

 "You both did. And I can't wait for the wedding!" Natasha said

Bucky felt his phone buzz he saw it was Sylvia face timing. He pulled Harlow out on the back porch to take the call. Sylvia was with Eugenie to give them their congratulations and see the ring in person.
