*Two days Later*

I awoke to find myself slumped against the trunk of a tree, bruises and scratches engulfing my body from head to toe. It was the middle of the night, the moon and stars hung high in the sky, attempting to illuminate the land below, attempting to break through the darkness that had fell upon the earth. For a few moments, I was left wondering what had happened, until the memories began to slowly pour back in to my mind, one by one.

I was walking back home from school as usual, alone, as the rain cascaded down from the dismal skies, drenching me completely. Then out of nowhere, I was attacked and slammed into a concrete wall by two identical faces I absolutely despised. It was the 'Turner Twins'. They always picked on me and I'd just learned to ignore it. I wouldn't look at them, I couldn't give them a reaction, that's what they wanted, instead I'd just stare straight out the window and into the distance or sit in silence and sketch in my notebook.

They'd teased me, they'd bullied me verbally, but never physically. I wasn't used to this and I didn't know what to do. As they pinned me to the wall, they began to make their usual comments along with a few malicious flirts, but then one of them took their hand and slapped me across the face, leaving the other to hold me in place. They beat me until the pain didn't even effect me anymore, whilst I struggled in my spot, attempting to break free.

I couldn't bring myself to hurt them back though. Multiple times I had the chance, I just didn't. I could feel an urge to fight them back, to see their skin bruise, to see their blood spill out on to the pavement, but something was stopping me. It was as if I was on the verge of insanity but I couldn't cross the line. It was horrible.

Eventually, I broke free of their grasp and ran for my life without thinking twice. They chased me through the darkened, empty streets, through narrow alleyways and through open fields until they reached the dense forest that sat at the edge of town. I'd ran straight through, despite the rumours and the stories that haunted the name, and for a while they followed closely behind. Although, a few minutes after, they tripped and fell backwards on to the crumbling pathway only to be approached by tall shadow of a human figure that dragged them away. And that was the last thing I saw before I dropped to the floor, unconscious.

What the shadow was, I'll never really know but what I do know is that I'm surrounded by a forest of slender, leaning trees, in cased in a thick, creeping mist, under the moonlight. I pulled myself to my feet and stumbled forward, back on to the path. Pain was ricocheting from one part of my body to another like lightening bolts, causing me to walk somewhat unsteadily. I continued down the path, until to the right, I noticed a note, stapled to a tree and flapping around in the cold breeze.

My curiosity overtook for the first time since I wittnessed that 'incident' all those years ago and I found myself walking over to examine it. When I reached it, I saw that all it was, was two poorly written sentences:

They hurt you. It's time to decide their fate.

Huh? Was 'they' referring to the Turner Twins? No, it couldn't be. This note was probably just a coincidence, put up by as a joke or a prank by a random passer-by hoping to scare someone, that someone being me...Winter Pale.

I slipped the note into my trouser pocket and continued to progress down the path, hoping it would lead out into the fields that had brought me here. As I wandered forward, the pain becoming more distinct with every move, I began to see the same shadow I'd seen drag away the twins. It kept appearing to the side of the path, peering out from behind the trees as if watching me intently. Uncomfortably, I picked up my pace until I was running full speed, though I was stopped rather quickly by something or rather two things, blocking me from proceeding.

I glanced down at the objects, only to find it was the same two things that had caused me all this trouble, sprawled across the path, unconscious, just like I'd been mere minutes ago. It was the Turner Twins. I couldn't help but laugh at their state. Although, the laugh that escaped my lips was not my usual laugh, it had a somewhat psychotic tone to it, so much so, that for a brief second, I questioned my sanity. Then the words of the note flew back into memory, 'They hurt you. It's time to decide their fate'

Perhaps the note was right, perhaps it was time to decide their fate... and the decision I had in mind was certainly not a pleasant one. Though after all, they deserved it. They didn't just bully me, they bullied every quiet and shy kid in our school. They bullied the defenseless kids...what a bunch of cowards, picking on the weaker ones instead! I'll show them who's weak, I'll show them who's defenseless. From inside my coat pocket, I pulled out my favourite pair of scissors.

Maybe its time to 'experiment' with them, you know, see what I can do. I knelt down beside them, clutching my weapon in my hand and before I knew it, I was slicing open their skin, watching as the blood seeped out of cuts and scars, forming small pools of red that stood out on the path like the moon in the sky of stars above my head. They were awoken immediately after I started, but I ignored their screams and shrieks telling me to stop. My eyes were full with blood lust and my mind had been taken over by the powerful force by the name of 'Insanity'.

From the corner of my eye, I noticed one of them was holding a knife in hand, but I noticed too late. The tip of the knife pierced through my right eye, slowly scraping it out from the socket until it was lying on the floor, flattened into the ground below my feet. There was a few moments of silence before I burst into a fit of rage, stabbing one of blades from the scissors straight into one of their chests then the other. I watched furiously as the life slowly drained out from their bodies, ending their suffering. Despite the fact they were already long gone, I carried on stabbing them, repeatedly until I'd completely covered them head to toe in their own blood. I laughed again, even more psychotically than before,

"Your fate has been decided..."
