When Raven finally started back her normal routine, it was anything but normal. Everyone was treating her like she might break. Like she might off herself too. And Raven was sick of it.
They thought that by giving her less work, it would ease her mind. They were completely wrong. She needed something to take her mind off her bestfriend. The babying and sugarcoating weren't helping. At all.
When she had finally had enough, she left. She told her boss at the library that she needed some more time-off. Of course, she was more than willing to give her some more time off.
When she got back home, she realiszed she was alone. Her mom was still at work and her aunt was too. She had lived with her aunt for as long as she could remeber. They had all moved in together when her father died, Leaving Raven's mother alone with her newborn.
Though she had went through some hard times Raven's mom, Tessa, was still as happy as bubbly as ever. It ran in their family to be friendly, no matter what. But lately, things hadn't been so happy and Raven was having a hard time smiling.
A knock on the door starlted Raven out of her reverie. She cautioslywent towards the window to see who it was. She pushed back the white curtains enough to peek out and saw that there was a bot on her doorstep. Maybe boy wasn't the right word.
He was tan and hard dark hair. He looked latino but Raven wasn't very sure. What she was sure of was that she had never seen him before.
She debated whether or not to open the door, he knocked again. Before she could think too much of it, she opened the door and smiled.
"Hello. I'm Daniel Quay. I'm here on behalf of my mother."
Well, Raven thought, that was unexpected.
