Lorraine forgot to return a book to the library. The book was Catcher In The Rye. The book was due, December 1st. Today was the 8th. She totally lost track of time, and forgot all about it. "I am so stupid!" she said.
As a result, she had to pay a 5 dollar fee. And if that wasn't bad enough, she had to pay it with some of her birthday money. Today was her birthday. Lorraine was really infuriated at the prospect.
She went to the library, and used her birthday money to pay for the overdue book, much to her chagrin. The librarian thanked her, and she left the library.
Lorraine's day just went from bad to worse.
