➵➶➴➵➶➴➵➶➴➵HE WAS STANDING THERE with such insolence yet such integrity, that I was at a loss for words. If he'd uttered another phrase, this whole role, this whole plan would've been put to flare. Who was he to ruin my whole facade? Everything our corporation needed relied on the sole person before me. Yet this impertinent human being, decided now was the time to stick his nose in my business. How could he speak so brazenly to one of the most needed men in the enterprise?
Now understand me clear and true, I may have been idolising him before now, but at that particular moment he wasn't vocalising his thoughts now was he? Also, needless to say, many people must've thought of him as intriguing, I mean only by taking I glance at him, my tender organs would be crucified.
Yet Pierre Del la Rue hadn't received a word of what was said. All he did was twist his head to the left and stare blankly at the other man. It was as if he'd had to listen to a child replaying a story to him. Of course I had understood what was being implied by Del la Rue, but getting the settlement sealed would reveal a generous raise. Now tell me why on Earth would I take up the opportunity to be with a middle aged pervert who already had a wife. I may not have looked it but I still did have my brain in tact and functioning.
'And who may you be?' Pierre enquired, a wisp of annoyance in his voice. It seemed to go by unnoticed by Mr 'Work of Art as he continued to say, 'My formal name is Kim Taehyung.'
Kim Taehyung, such an ordinary name, such an ordinary man wearing such ordinary clothing. So please my fellow readers, do tell me why such an ordinary species decided to look for such unordinary answers. Couldn't he have left my conversation in peace?
'Well Mr Kim Taehyung, what have you to do with this discussion?' I enquired, shocked at how smooth my voice was. I was piercing bullets through his skull.
Taehyung didn't answer, all he did was lock eyes with the person in front of me. There seemed to be no anger nor look of fury across both their eyes, just a muted consensus.
Monsieur Pierre Del la Rue took hold of his briefcase and left.
'Wait, hold on, what's going on?' I was now past the brink of confusion. Who was this person? Why was he here? Was he important? I had too many thoughts whirling in my mind. 'Kim Taehyung, who are you?'
Taehyung too left in tranquility.
Once again people were starting to clear out. The pasta was starting to chill; but the ice in the water had begun to melt. I too payed the bill, reached for my handbag and left.
The city's night had befallen me, wrapping the day in it's starry, prussian blue blanket. The sky had been filled with flutters of light. An inky abyss of darkness dotted with small hopes. But there was no hope for me, I had lost a very large scale partnership in the blink of an eye and yet, all I could do was drown my sorrows in liquor.

I twisted and turned wiping my hand on the rough leather, waves of nausea adding to my undeniable misery. Why was life so complicated? Simplicity appeared to course away whilst trouble had to follow throughout. The phone beside me pinged message after message but I couldn't begin to look at who they were from. My brain felt like it would swell beyond the capacity of my own skull. And to add to my incessant distress, my dehydration had finally reached breaking point. Never would I doubt others words again. Hangovers really were the worst.
'Good morning sweetheart, or should I say afternoon seeing as you'd passed out for a good 12 hours.' My stomach lurched and gurgled. Damn it.
'You need water don't you?' I raised my heavy eyelids half way only for them to fall completely shut.
'Some painkillers would help too wouldn't they?' I raised them again, it ke weights had been placed on my entire body.
'Come to think of it the situation your in must be more than horrific.'
. . .
'Hold on a second, who are you and what are you doing in my house?!'
'My car you mean.'
'Say what?'Indeed he was right I happened to end up the most unlikeliest of situations, I was in a car. A really pleasant one at that. I slowly raised my head scavenging around to find a handle to balance myself with. The car was stationary but my brain still was in overdrive. I had never really been that hungover before, to be completely honest I had never been much of a drinker. Sure the odd wine amongst other beverages but never enough for a blackout.
I should've been more cautious as I was in an unidentified persons car, but something about his voice was soothing, playful, familiar, as if nothing could go— 'KIM TAEHYUNG!'
'Bonsoir Madame, seems you've finally figured out who I am.' My head was still swirling, I was seeing things wasn't I? The sole human being that got me into a ragged state managed to be the one who brought me into his car. Life was playing games with me.
'Why am I in your car?' My head was pounding, it sucked to be me.
'First here, take this.' He whipped around to face me.
'And this is?'
'Drugs.'
'Marvellous.'
