Pinkie Pie
"Miss Pie?" The nurse huffs impatiently, her soft pink bangs falling into her eyes. "Are you ready to begin?" Her pointy red heels tap against the tile ground rapidly as she eagerly awaits my response, clinging to her clipboard gingerly like she can't wait to study me. The shimmering scarlet of her shoes flashes before my eyes, making my head burn and ache. That scarlet red, I've seen that color.
I struggle against my straight jacket, tears forming in my icy blue eyes. My thick, pink curls fall in front of my face and shield the chubby nurse from my vision. "There's nothing to talk about!!" I yelp, grinding my teeth together in frustration and squeezing my eyes shut, battling the tears. They're all dead, and they think I did it! "Why am I even here?!"
"Don't be silly, girl!" she scoffs, tucking her hair behind her ear and crossing her pudgy legs. "You mean to tell me you don't remember murdering those five innocent girls?! Not to mention your sister!" She raises an eyebrow at me, pouting her bright red bottom lip. That color that was so familiar.
My heart tumbles from my chest and into my stomach, plummeting downwards like a broken elevator. All I can feel is terror. Absolute terror. "I-I didn't kill anybody! I didn't kill Maud!" The memory of my sister burns in my mind, the skinny little girl, bruised purple and gray. She took every blow so I wouldn't have to, and I'm eternally grateful for that. But a man broke into our house and killed her, that's what my parents say! That's what my aunt and uncle say! How could she accuse me of such a thing?! I LOVED HER.
She sighs deeply, the breathe exhaled through her nose gusting toward me. She's sitting too close. "Dear, I understand if the memories are repressed. You were only a girl when you took your sister's life and I wouldn't expect you to--"
"LET ME OUT!" I scream, tears streaming down my face. I'm thrashing back in forth in my restraints, the fabric taut as I writhe around. I just want to go home, why can't I go home?! "I DIN'T KILL ANYONE!" I lurch forward, my lips curled back in a snarl, my teeth bared. My skull is just a minuscule distance from hers, but I can't move any more. That bright red of her lips in front of my eyes; it all starts to come back. I sit up slowly, staring at my hands underneath all the restraints. No... no I'm not a murderer.
"Yes, dear," the nurse replies solemnly, jotting a few things down on her stupid flower print clipboard. She looks back up at me, my chest rising and falling rapidly like a frantic animal. My eyes are wide and feel sucked dry, even though salty tears are pouring through them. "You did."
