"Good luck in high school, Izuku!"

"You too, Miko. Diner after school!"

"I know, I know! Love you, snotrat!"

"Love you too, crapfish!" Izuku waves, running off to the train station.

Miko smiles proudly at him. He'd gotten into the high school of his dreams, U.A. High. A specialized school for some of the country's smartest kids. Miko got accepted to her own dream school, a school of technology. They were living their childhood dreams and neither could be more happy for each other. Sure, it was sad that they wouldn't get to spend as much time together, but it's okay. They're best friends afterall. No matter what, they'll be there for each other.

"Kacchan threw the ball super, duper far! I threw it a meter farther than him, and he was so mad. But unlike that crappy middle school, our sensei actually stopped him. Oh, and I already made two friends. Well, I met Uraraka and Iida at the entrance exam, but now we're actually friends— I think? Is there a specified amount of time you have to hang out with someone to be their friend? Oh well! Oh, and Uraraka thought my name was Deku and I told her a summary behind it and the she said something really cool about it and I immediately gave in to letting her call me Deku." Izuku rambles before sipping on his milkshake. He seemed genuinely excited to be at this new school. "Overall, it was a great day! How was it for you, Miko?"

"As good as it could get. No matter how much I wanted to go, school is school and Miko hates school." Miko tells him, taking a lazy sip of her chocolate milkshake. Izuku laughs lightly, mirroring her actions. "I missed you today, though. Had no curls to mess with."

"Notice how my curls aren't as frizzy anymore." He mumbles with a small roll of his eyes.

Miko pretends to be offended, "Hey, it's not my fault!"

"It so is!" He exclaims, "I spend, like, two hours on making sure my curls aren't a messy bush and all it took was your fiddling to mess it up!"

Miko laughs loudly, jumping over the table to ruffle his neat curls. Izuku doesn't even get a chance to react.

"Miko, I'm going to drown you with your milkshake." Izuku deadpans.

"Creative! Anyway, there was this super cute boy..."

Izuku's smile disappears, quickly replaced with a faux one. All her words after that went in one ear and out the other. An uncomfortable force squeezes at Izuku's heart, and he knows it's jealousy. Super. Cute. Boy. That wasn't. Him.
