Fake dating - dreamnotfound

Chapter 1

Clay woke up from his sleep to see his phone was wringing. Who the fuck is calling me at 5 in the morning? He picked up to see his phone monitor displaying a goofy picture of his best friend Nick with the contact name 'simpnap'. Scoffing, he put in his headphones and pressed accept, laying back down into bed and wishing he was asleep, it was too early for this. He loved Nick but not this much.

"What do you want dumbass? I was sleeping so this better be fucking important." Clay's morning voice was deep and rough making his statement a lot more threatening.

"Woah calm down Dreamy I have some super important news!" Nick hurried, he sounded intimidated, but he still managed to joke around and Clay smiled a little bit.

"It couldn't have waited like 3 hours?"

"Nope!" Nick chuckled, "anyways what i'm trying to tell you is that i got a girlfriend!"

"No you didn't, you would ever date your ass?" Clay giggled, "Other than me of course, I'm your number one fan baby"

"You're not allowed to say that anymore, Sophie might get jealous babe" Nick joked, Clay wheezed, he knew that if anyone was dating the infamous Sapnap, the one who flirts with everyone, they had better have an open mind about flirting.

"Ah young love, i remember the feeling like it was yesterday, going on your first date and feeling like there was no one else in the world" Clay sighed, pretending that he was in love with someone. As if anyone could handle dating me.

"Oh come on Dream you've never had a partner in your life" Clay heard Sapnap chuckle through his headphones. The ashy blond man blushed of course he hadn't but he couldn't let his friend know that, especially

"Oh yeah? Explain that to my boyfriend" Clay said, his mouth moving without consent. What? Boyfriend? No wait I should take it back before he thinks it's rea-

"Are you serious dude? Why didn't you tell me?" Nick interrupted his voice sounding almost offended at the thought that Clay had been hiding someone from him.

"Well he- um said that he didn't want anyone to know?" Clay hated lying to his best friend but he also liked the idea that he was dating someone. "I can ask him if I can tell you who he is," Clay said, the words coming out without permission. He really needed to work on that impulse, it kept getting in the way.

"Alright lemme hang up so you can talk to your 'boyfriend' Dream" Nick teased, showing he wasn't convinced that Clay even had a boyfriend. He knew he wasn't the best at lying, but he thought he was fairly decent.

The end tone rang once and Clay was left alone with his thoughts. Who was he going to pull into his mess? He thought about having Fundy join but he wasn't the best liar. Then it hit him. George.

Everyone already thought they were dating anyways, so it would be pretty convincing. Plus George was a great actor, and really good at fake flirting with Clay. The freckled man picked up his phone again and stared at the contact he was about to press.

A picture of George laughing, wearing Dream merch with the contact name 'gogy 🤡' Clay smiled, his best friend of all time. He was scared to ask for this huge favour but you only live once, and he knew it was fake so there was no pressure or anything. Right?
