I never thought my life could be so messed up. At one point I'm helping Team Flash defeat Zoom, now I'm having strong feeling for him. A murderous villain who will not stop till he gets what he wants. A speedster that I once believed who cared about me. The one who tricked me into betraying Team Flash. Now all I could do is think about how I could help them without getting anyone killed.

I sighed walking through the dark streets of Central City, lights flickered with muddy peddles surrounding the edges and cracks in the concrete. Building were drenched with rain making more puddles of water drip from above. I cross my arms together, trying to comfort me in the pure ghetto darkness. I scurried forward hurrying home in fear.

As I enter my apartment room, slamming my door shut behind me, locking it, I turn facing the walls leaning against the door and sliding down to the floor. I shivered as I continued to think about what happened today and the loss of my job. How could I have messed up again? This was my one and only chance to save me from ending up on the streets.

My eye vision started to become blurry, my agony of pain of my throat increased more. I could feel more tears overflowing my eyes, I tried taking deep breaths, bringing head up to face the ceiling. A few minutes passed, I got up and walked towards a mirror in the hallway.

I'm wearing a black jeans and a grey sweatshirt with a white sports cap. My hoodie still coving my cap, my long black hair was in a messy braid. Dark circles started to appear under my red puffy eyes, my hand started to touch the mirror. What was happening to me? How could I be living like this?

I turned away in shame and punched the mirror, it shattered. My hand nearly blood red from the damage, I was lucky to not to be bleeding right now. I soon cleaned the mess up and heading towards my room and slouched on the couch. I grabbed the remote and turned on the news.

"Another attack was found near Jitters!" I sighed. What's up with this speedster? Shouldn't he be like the other one with orange lightning? Like um...what was his name? The Flash? I sighed once more and turned the TV off. I slowly got up and changed into some pjs and went to sleep.

Buzzzzz.... Buzzzzz.... Buzzzzz - CRASH!!

I yelped, in pain grabbing my fist that turned even more red from yesterday. I sat up in bed rubbing up my injured hand, I looked around, the sun was shinning bright through my curtains. I got up and opened them wide, I then opened my window breathing the fresh clean air. I always loved the morning in Central City.

I then drew away from my window and slid into my bathroom. I glanced myself at the mirror and stared. My dark circles were now gone and no longer puffy from last night. In the mirror I saw a girl that had another chance in life to make things right. I smiled at my reflection and instintly washed my face and got ready to go outside. I was going to find a way to get a job. I should probably start at Jitters first. Fresh and easy.

(Time skip, she's working in Jitters now. I also added some new characters to the story. Not a character introduced into the series.)

I started to get payed extra after offering to stay at night and clean everything up. I was soon able to pay off a little bit of my passed bills, it wasn't much but it at least cut my budget slightly. I soon started working there everyday trying my best to get as much as I can. Even though it was mostly for the money, I actually had a lot of fun.

It started to get late and my boss Tony smirked at me as he was about to head home.

"Are you ever going to take a break just for once?" I returned him a sweet smile. "You know how it works, I do my job and you pay me." he laughed loudly. "Goodnight, Jennifer." he said heading towards the exit. "Night." I called back.

An hour went by and I was about to finish cleaning up everything until something caught my eye. I turned towards the exit, the door softly closed. I looked around the room.

"Hello?" I said nervously. "I'm sorry but we're closed." I said starting to walk towards the exit door. I still saw nothing. My heart started to pumping fast.

I scurried towards the table I was cleaning and immediately finished grabbing my things. Once I turned I see blue lightning zoom around the area. I felt wind blow behind me, making my long curled hair flow on my shoulders. I turned to see a man standing in front of me. I screamed in shock and started to back up.

He was dressed like the flash except his suit was black, with clawed marks on his mask with sharp claws.

He harshly grabs my neck lifting me off my feet, in a flash I was pinned against the wall. I gasped for air, I began to feel tears running down my cheeks. My hands gently grabbing his hand that was pinning me.

"Please!" I whimpered. I pleaded, staring at his jet black eyes. His stared back at mine. I began to see blue lightning surround him. My eyes widen when I see his hand phasing. At that moment I started to choke, everything started to get blurry. Next thing I know I'm on the floor gasping out air, gripping my neck. The speedster stood there and finally kneeled, he grabbed my chin harshly, forcing me to meet his gaze.

"Just because you're alive doesn't mean you aren't a target." I nodded softly. Once I blinked he was gone.
