chapter 5

I saw...............a gun?
What!!! What was a gun doing here, in
The old hags room. I've got so much questions in my head right now.

I decided I've snooped around too much, so I  carefully reassembled the brief case exactly how I found it. But I took the gun with me.
I don't know what was running through my mind but,
I had to take it, there was just no way.

I took a fee minutes to use the first aid kit and fix it the same way I found it and the briefcase back in to  the cupboard and left. I made sure to get rid of any trace that I was in here.
I hurried to my room to take a shower, and process what i just witnessed.
While the hot water ran down my body I kept thinking about the gun I saw. Why was it there?
Where was the old hag going?
Is she apart of some Mafia? 😂

I decided to stop thinking so much.
Maybe I was over thinking things?
Maybe she just had it for protection.
I got out of the shower, and look for some clothes.
After some minutes I found some thing to wear.
It was a grey sleeveless crop top with a white skirt and a grey and black plaid shirt with white sneakers.

I gotta say i have some fashion sense.
I blow dried my hair and tied it into a bun.
After putting on my clothes I decided to go to Paige's house and tell her about what happened.

I still can't believe I saw a gun in the house.
After a few minutes of walking I reached Paige's house and knocked on the door several times.
I didn't hear anyone comming to the door so I was about to knock again when Paige opened the door.

"Took you long enough" I said with a pout.
"I was in the middle of putting on my makeup".
"Anyways I'm comming in, I've got something to tell you" I said. I have to tell her, she's my bestfriend and the only one who will believe me.
"So what's up. It must be bad because your face is all gloomy and stuff".
"So, yesterday remember when I went home late?"
"Oh yeah are you ok, what happened?"
"So you know what happened the usual punishment thing, but she said she was coming back. The next morning I woke up and she left a note saying she'll be back in a month."
"Really, are you kidding that great, that never happens".
"Don't get all excited yet, I have more news".
"So I was patching up with the only first aid kit in the house which was in her room"
"WHAT! Why did you go in there do you WANT to get in trouble, suppose there was frikin camera there?" I knew she was gonna fume on me for going into the room but I'm sure there wasn't any cameras in there.
"I dont think there was. Anyway, when I found the kit i saw a briefcase."
" please dont tell me you took it down and opened it" she said rubbing her temple.
"I took it down and opened it" when I said that she looked like a mother disappointed at her 5 year old son for breaking glass.
" I totally knew you did that, what did you see or find?"
"There was a gun. In the briefcase."
I blunted out the words, not able to hold it back anymore.
"OH MY GOD REALLY!!!!! what on earth is a darned gun doing in that woman's house?" She looked shocked. No, infact  she was as shocked as seeing a pig fly. Not that they can.
"Listen Jade, this bad cut the bullcrap I'm serious. If you found a gun that means something bad is happening or going to happen, you know that right"
She was really serious. I've never seen Paige so serious in my life. She must be really worried. I mean I am too, I found a hidden gun, that can't be good.
"I know it's not good Paige, but you know how I am I'm a very curious person, I wanna know more"
It was bad to say i wanted to go back into the old hags room and snoop around again because there might be an actually CTV there. But I'm wanted to know more about why there was a gun In the house like why?
"No, Jade, no, I am not going to let you even if I have to Tie and lock you up somewhere. I am not going to let you snoop around anymore. What if you find something even more dangerous like a nuclear bomb or something?" 
"Nuclear bomb, Paige why the hell would someone even possess something that dang- you know what im not even gonna answer you"
I faced palm because of Paige' s stupid remark.
"It was just a statement, but what if I'm right"
"Paige calm down, there is no nuclear bomb anywhere in that house"
Paige can be a total nincompoop sometimes.
After a few minutes I decided I was gonna ask Paige if she wanted to skip school tomorrow to come to my house.
"Paige!!" I screamed through the living room.
Paige was in the kitchen cooking god knows what.
"No Jade dont even ask me that question its a no."
Damn it, I knew she was gonna say no.
"Pleaseeeeeeeeeeee" I pleaded to her multiple time for the next two minutes until she finally gave up.
"Ok fine but if I die i won't forgive you"
She pouted. Yes.

The next day

School ended and I stayed at Paige's house until it was nine. 

After Paige packed some clothes for tonight, we finally reached my house.
"This place gives me the creepies" Paige was always kinda scared when she stepped on the front  porch, she had the expression like she was going to get gobbled up alived.

We went inside and up to my room. The old hag wasn't here so it doesn't matter who comes in.
" So don't think this is a regular sleepover thing. I have a theory."
There was something on my mind when I saw the gun, I honestly dont know if it's even real but it was just a theory.
"I knew I shouldn't have agreed to come here"
Paige whined.
"whatever just hear me out"

We reached my room and Paige started to speak.
"Ok go on." She said so I started to state my theory I had in my head.
"So what if the old hag was working for some kind of Mafia or gang?"
"Ok wait wait wait wait wait!! Why the hell would you think she would be doing that?"
"Well i dont know do you have another theory?"
".....well No I dont but-"
"Exactly so hear me out" I said as I cut her off.
" if she turned out to be apart of something it must be for a good reason right?"
"Maybe someone was after her or she stole something of some sort?"
"Well if that's the case she would most likely be getting chased for doing something so I suppose I kinda agree with your theory Jade"
" well if she was being chased why did she leave the house, what if someone is watching us or the house"
What if someone was watching the house and we get kidnapped when we were sleeping. They will most likely attack because the old hag is not here.
Why am I confused by my own theory?
"Ok Jade stop I will change my MIND and go back to my house your giving me the chills"

After our conversation we talk about regular stuff like things that happens at school star wars. And other stuff.
"I'll be right back im going to the bathroom"
"Ok be quick"

Speaking of be quick its been 5 minutes and Paige hasn't emerged from the restroom. What on earth could she be doing.
I waited another t minutes still no Paige so I went to go check.
I was walking to the bathroom when I heard a thud.
I quickly rushed to the bathroom door and pushed it open. I didn't see Paige where was she.
Panicke rushed through me. I couldn't  find Paige where could she have gone. There was no other rooms here. I looked out the window of the bathroom only to see a figure in black running towards the forest. And I made out another figure. It was Paige.
PAIGE!!!
