Hey everyone (: I thought Night Changes by 1D was a good choice <3

As our professor went on, talking about storyline theories, Hero went on trying to pester me.

"This guy never stops droning on, does he?" He said.

"Oh my god!" I retorted. "Can you quit talking? I'd like to actually learn something!"

Hero scoffed. "He's not even talking about anything useful! He's speaking fucking bullshit!"

"Shhh!" I tried hushing but I saw that it was enough to alert the professor.
He paused, holding a red marker, eyeing me intensely.

"I'm sorry," he began, "Did I interrupt something important?" He folded his arms across his chest.

"Oh no, sir, I'm sorry..." I trailed off, feeling like a complete idiot. Everyone in the class was now staring at me, waiting for me to continue.

"Please don't stop on my account." The professor went on, sounding impatient.

"I'm sorry." I apologized. "It won't happen again."

This seemed to have been enough: The professor turned around after a long, simmering glare and continued pointing at a self-made diagram. I smiled as I became invested in what theory he was discussing. The theory of how all fantasy novels tied into real life. Maybe all of it wasn't a fantasy. Perhaps every character that traveled to a distant land were actually in a coma and-

"Did you do something different?"

I felt annoyed. I turned my head, eyeing Hero who was now perched on the edge of his seat, looking right at me.

"What?" I replied.

"Come on," Hero urged, "It's six at night. You look like you're going to some rich gala."

I nervously straightened my hairband and took a look at my dress. Yes, it was a bit much, but it was one of my favorites. Besides, it wasn't like I was doing it for anyone else but me.

"It's my grandma's," I said, "She wore it when she was a teenager."

Hero laughed. "Explains a lot."

I huffed, focusing my attention back on the whiteboard. The professor looked back as if he suspected chatter, but then quickly turned back to his lecture.

"Why are you even here?" I hissed, not at all amused. "You haven't been in this class for weeks."

"I switched last second." Hero replied. "I felt starting in a lower class suited me better."

"Okay, that's fine," I began, "But I need you to understand that we can't keep seeing each other."

Hero raised an eyebrow. "We're seeing each other?"

I blushed at his cheeky response. "You know what I mean. My dad made me promise him I won't let you near the dorm ever again. I intend to keep that promise."

"Fine," Hero went on, seeming unbothered, "It doesn't have to be in the dorm. I want to spend some time with you and apologize for my behavior."

I rolled my eyes. "You already did apologize."

"Formally."

I couldn't help but turn my whole body to look at Hero.

"Why do I feel like you're just making up any excuse to be around me now?"

Hero shrugged. "Maybe I am. You won't know unless you live a little and join me."

"I can't." I ground my teeth together. "What about my father?"

"What about your dad?" Hero challenged. "I know he's intense and all but when will you get another chance to live while at college? I'll tell you when: never. You don't stay young forever."

"Just tell me we won't go to that frat," I begged.

Hero looked down at his desk. "I can't promise that, but I will promise that I'll make it fun."

I looked up at the ceiling already knowing I was going to regret this. "Okay, fine."

"Tomorrow, then?"

I shook my head. "No. I'm too busy. It has to be on the weekend. I don't have much planned besides work. I got a job at Starbucks."

Hero sighed like he was already fed up with my antics. "Alright. Friday then."

Can't believe you all got me to 1k in a month. That's honestly insane.

Thank you :)
