Clarke's POV:
Once the first two lessons had finished I could finally go find Nylah during the interval break, we only had Maths together meaning she was by herself and completely stoned the rest of the day. On the way to our hangout spot I heard, and saw, Bellamy, Finn and Wells talking. I didn't necessarily like Bellamy or Finn but Wells was nice enough, plus Bellamy and Nylah were good friends.
"Hey Clarke!" Finn called once he saw me heading their way, he cupped his hands around his mouth and yelled louder,
"Got eyes on the new teacher don't you!" All three of them started laughing as well as a distinct mention of Nylah's name. I stilled for a second before storming up to Finn and landing a straight punch straight to his jaw, yes I know, I shouldn't have gotten so sensitive over a comment like that, he stumbled back, nursing his jaw before saying,
"You bitch." He then came at me, attempting to off balance me with a push. I smirked to myself before dodging out of his way and grabbing his hair which I used as leverage to drive my knee into his face. He yelped in pain and I released him, he crumpled to the ground, crying like a baby. I stood over him.
"Don't you dare, say anything like that agai-"
"Clarke Griffin!" I heard a teacher exclaim from behind me, I froze and turned around to look Miss Woods in the eyes, shit.
"Come with me." She beckoned me with her finger and my shoulders slumped. This wasn't going to be good, plus, after the comment Finn just made, this didn't make that any better. Some kids who were watching started to whisper amongst themselves. I flipped them off and followed Miss Woods towards her class. Leaving Finn writhing around on the ground. Blood spurting from his nose.
---
I sat down in a chair and she sat down opposite me.
"So, Clarke. What did I just witness?" She was looking at me without judgement, or anger. Just curiosity.
"He said some things." I folded my arms and leaned back in my chair studying Miss Woods. The top she was wearing was white with black stripes along the seams accompanied by a pair of black jeans and a studded belt. She was, in fact, extremely attractive. My eyes made their way back up to her face where I realized she too was looking, not at my face, but at my body. I began to feel self conscious and shifted in my seat. That seemed to break her out of her thoughts as she cleared her throat with a cough.
"Well, may I ask what he said?" She pulled out a form, no doubt an incident report of some kind and looked at me expectantly. I felt my face heat up.
"He said stuff about my girlfriend." I mumbled and she raised her eyebrow.
"Okay, so, he said something offensive and you decided the best way to deal with that was to.. Punch him in the face?" I nodded and she sighed, entwining her fingers over her stomach and leaned back.
"Look, I don't want to be that teacher that says, 'violence is not the answer' type shit. So, please. If you're going to punch someone at least do it outside of school grounds." I smirked, I liked this teacher.
"Okay, Miss Woods." She smiled and waved me off.
"It's Lexa, now go. This never happened."
I stood up and left her classroom. Suddenly I was looking forward to Maths.
Lexa's POV:
Clarke left my classroom and shut the door. Once it was safely closed I put my head in my hands. She had definitely seen me staring, no, not staring, I was just looking, right? I was just thinking. Yeah, that's what I was doing. She may have taken it the wrong way though. I should talk to her to clear any misunderstandings up, but won't that look weird? Surely not? It would be a completely professional thing to do, so as not to have any misunderstandings in the future. Right?
"Miss Woods?" There was a knock at my door and I quickly lifted my head and smiled at the principal, standing to greet him.
"Thelonious, how are you?" I extended my hand and he gave me a firm shake.
"I'm doing well, thank you. How are you finding your first day?" He gave me a quizzical look, as if daring me to say it was as shit as it was.
"If I'm honest," He shot a look at me but I continued, "It's not nearly as intimidating as I expected it to be, the students are," I thought for a second, "Very welcoming." Jaha nodded, giving me a somewhat satisfied look.
"That's good to hear. Now, here are your lesson planning forms for future classes, good day." And with that he left my class. I sighed, hoping I had made a good impression on him. I didn't want to be a kiss ass so I put the lesson plans in my desk drawer, I would fill them out on time but not before the deadline.
The bell for the end of interval rang and some way too energetic freshmen took their seats, filling the class from the front to the back. I waited for a few more minutes and began the lesson.
---
The last two students left my class and I was finally able to release a sigh before closing my classroom door and settling down for my free period. I decided to work on lesson plans considering there was really nothing to do otherwise. I edited a few of my plans and absentmindedly doodled on the corner of my desk until the bell indicated that it was lunch, I stood up and stretched my back, as I did I glanced out the window, I could see small clusters of students forming as they all headed towards their 'spots'. I laughed to myself, I sort of missed high school, the bustling corridors, the horrific smell of the bathrooms, I even missed the corner I ate my lunch in. Though, my high school was very different to Ark High. The teachers were privately educated, the students were disciplined and we had to wear uniforms. Here? The teachers half assed their classes, the students did whatever they wanted and the dress code was ignored completely. I knew that as a private school student I would be expected to look down upon the students within this school, but for some reason I envied them. They were getting the high school experience I wished I could have had. Instead of having perfectly scheduled days they turned up to class late. Instead of doing homework they were at parties, and instead of thinking about their future they were living life how they wanted. And I guess a part of me wished I could have experienced more to high school than a damp corner where I ate my lunch and my two story house that I was never allowed to leave.
My eyes focused themselves on a blonde haired figure, Clarke. She was walking with who I assumed was her girlfriend. She tossed her hair over her shoulder and looked up at the window, locking eyes with me for a second before she smiled slightly, nodded her head and turned back to her friends. I shook my head. Stop staring.
Why was I staring?
