chapter 13: hero names

(y/n)'s pov:

we are returning to school today. but who cares about that, me and dad are finally getting our bandages off.

we arrived to school early to meet up with recovery girl.

"morning," dad greeted.

"good morning. i'll get started with (y/n) first." recovery girl said.

i made my way to one of the beds, my legs hanging from the side of it. i got a few kisses from recovery girl before taking off the bandages.

"you will be a bit tired throughout the day, try not to push yourself too hard." she gave me a lollipop.

i nod and thank her for the candy. dad was next. i didn't want to wait so i headed to class. when i got there it was dark and empty. i turned on the lights making the room bright. with a sigh i walked to my desk and fell asleep.

"hey, (y/n)...(y/n)... wake up." someone was poking me. cant they see i'm trying to sleep.

"what." i said irritated, lifting my head up from the desk. can't i get some sleep around here.

"class is starting soon." kirishima backed up.

i put my head back down. class can wait.

"(y/n). wake up. i don't want you sleeping in my class." dad said.

"you're one to talk." i lift my head up. he has a whole sleeping bag c'mon now.

he ignored my comment. "more importantly, we're having a special hero informatics class today. you'll be coming up with hero names."

hero names?!

"this is related to the pro hero draft picks i mentioned the other day." dad explains.

he kept talking but i had other things to worry about. i don't know what my hero name should be. yea, sure, when i was younger me and dad played heroes but i never came up with a name that stuck. this is going to be a problem.

"here are the offers that some of you got." dad showed on the board. todoroki got the most offers, bakugo second.

"why does y/n have an offer? she didn't participate." someone pointed out.

"that offer was from me. i know her capabilities." dad said.

"you're so lucky, y/n!" kirishima said.

"i suppose."

"as i was saying. whether or not anyone asked for you, you will be participating in interships with pros." dad continues. "those hero names are still temporary, but if you're not serious about it..."

"you have hell to pay later!" aunt midnight finished his sentence. she was taking over the class since dad isn't good at hero names.

whiteboards were passed around. i stare at my white board. i have no clue for a hero name. maybe i'll ask dad for help. i looked up to see him sleeping. nevermind, i guess im on my own for this.
