CHAPTER THREE

Lando and I are sitting in a 24/7 tea cafe. They only serve tea here, and they're open 24/7. It blows my mind that they really have a tea cafe that is open 24/7.

'Is this a typical thing for England?' I ask as we wait for our tea.

'What the 24/7 hour tea cafe?'

I nod my head.

'There are a few, especially in the big cities. Mostly after a night out with friends, we come to a place like this to sober up and chat about the night we had. It's fun.'

'I can imagine. The only thing that is almost open 24/7 in the Netherlands is the coffee shops.'

Our tea is placed in front of us. We thank the server. The tea is served in classic vintage cups. It just looks so cute.

'Enjoy your English tea,' Lando says as he takes a sip of his tea.

I take my cup from the table and take a sip myself. 'Oh my god,' I mumble. 'This is so good!'

Lando starts to laugh. 'English tea is the best.'

'Hell yeah, it is. My goodness. This is so good. How can anything be this good? I've had a lot of tea in my life, but nothing is this good. Does it always taste like this?'

'It does. I've had tea in some other places in the world, but this is the best tea ever. Nothing will stop this.'

'I can imagine. I want to pack this shop up and take it home with me,' I say as I take another sip.

'About home, do you have any brothers or sisters?'

'I do. I have two little brothers. One is almost 18, and the other is 10. My mom got remarried almost 11 years ago, and a year later, she was pregnant. But I love him. He is such a little bulb of happiness. What about you?'

'I have two little sisters and a big brother. He's the one who got me into racing actually. We were always travelling a lot with the whole family, so that was quite fun,' Lando says.

'I can imagine. You're close with him?'

'Not as close as I used to be, but that's because I'm away a lot, I think. When we were younger, we raced together and did all of that together. Now it's just me who is still racing and travelling. They come to see me at some races, but they have their lives too so they can't come to every race.'

'Do you miss them?' I ask as I take another sip from my tea.

'Not really. We still talk a lot on the phone. I call my parents after every race, and we FaceTime a lot. There are moments that I wish they were at a race with me, but it is how it is.'

After we drank our tea and talked some more, it was time to head back to the hotel. It was almost 5 in the morning, and I'm starting to get tired. It's still a miracle that I held it out for so long.

'I had fun tonight,' I say as we're staying in front of the hotel.

'Me too. It was good to meet you, Leala.'

'I can say the same. Thanks for everything.'

'No problem,' Lando says.

Our eyes lock. I want to walk into the hotel, but I can't move. His eyes are keeping me in my place. Before I know it, Lando his lips are against mine. Butterflies fly around in my stomach, and I smile against his lips.

'Oh my god! You two are so cute!'

I pull back and see Kiara and George standing a few miles away from us.

'I thought you were already back in the room,' I say to her.

'Nope. We were having fun at the club, but my feet are killing me. But you two are perfect,' Kiara smiles and walks towards me. From the way she wiggles over to me, I can see that she is clearly wasted.

'I should take her to our room,' I say to Lando.

'Yeah, of course. It was fun tonight.'

'I was,' I smile. I hook my arm in Kiara her arm, and we walk up the steps to the front door.

'Call me,' I hear Lando say behind me.

With a cheeky smile on my face, I reply 'maybe'.

'Just do it, Leala.'

'Good night, Norris.' Kiara and I walk into our hotel and make out way to the hotel room as quiet as we can. We walk into the room, and Kiara lets herself fall on the bed. I shut the door and lean against it.

'I think I'm falling for Lando Norris.'
