In other news, a body has been found in a forest near Green University...

Stabbed multiple times.

A boy in his twenties.

The television played in the background of Soobin's room. He wasn't paying much attention.

He had a test to study for and no time for distractions. His head was pounding in pain, a migraine he couldn't get rid of.

Soobin hasn't talked to Kai in a while. He's seen him a few times though, the shadows under his eyes had gotten darker. Sometimes Kai looked unrecognizable.

His phone rang.

Soobin rolled his eyes before picking up, not bothering to check who it was.

"Hello?" Soobin said bored.

"S-Soobin.." A breathy voice said through the phone.

Soobin tilted his head, not sure who it was. "Yes, this is him?" He replied suspiciously.

He could hear unstable breathing through the other end. It cut off at random times, it was strange for an early morning call.

He finally peeked at the phone, the screen revealing the name,  Choi Yeonjun.

"Yeonjun?" He said surprised. What do you want?' Soobin asked.

"Did you not hear the ne-" Yeonjun groaned. "Look at your fucking tv." He said in a frustrated tone. .

Soobin glanced over, his eyebrows furrowed in concentration. That's when he saw all the headlines of the report, his eyes widened. The big text sunk deep into his mind. On the screen, several gruesome photographs flashed. It was like he was there, staring at the dead body.

There were cuts and scrapes all over his arms and legs, blood had turned his clothing crimson. And worst of all his eyes had been ripped from his skull. The pictures were shown in their truest form. Raw and unfiltered.

"..It can't be him right?" Yeonjun croaked. "Does...does Kai know?"

He hadn't even thought of that.

"Uh...I don't know." Soobin shook his head even though Yeonjun couldn't see him. .

"You're fucking useless." Yeonjun said before he hung up.

The line stayed beeping for a few seconds, he seriously couldn't believe it. Yesterday he had blurted out something so foolish and now it had become true.

His senses came back to him like he had awoken from a dream. Kai. How would he be feeling right now? He dropped everything and rushed towards Kai's dorm.

He shifted his weight between both feet, not knowing when he should knock. He had never been good at comforting people, it made him uncomfortable. He chewed on his lip anxiously and knocked on the door. A quiet, almost inaudible knock.

Part of him wished it was just a dream so he wouldn't have to deal with all the consequences of what was to come, so he didn't have to deal with the guilt of the last words he told Beomgyu.

Soon enough light footsteps approached him, two eyes peeking through a small gap.

"Soobin, why are you here?" Kai spoke in a groggy voice. Was it because he was asleep or crying? Nonetheless, it sounded different.

"Are you okay?" Soobin asked.

" Seriously." Huening Kai groaned and began to shut his door.

Soobin put his foot in between, stopping him.
