Christmas Caroling with Denki Kaminari

It was almost Christmas Eve and your parents had invited you to go Christmas caroling with them. As excited as you were to see them again for the holidays, you were sad to have to ditch Denki's plans to hang out with you that night. So when someone knocked on your dorm room's door you jumped. Not expecting anyone because they were either out somewhere or planning things for Christmas.

You heard Denki call through the door, "Hey! Have you left yet?" You thought you'd told him about your plans with your family and that you would be back late so you would have to hang out some other night.

"Coming!" You called as you finished bundling up for the cold and snowy weather awaiting you outside.

You opened the door to see Denki staring at the floor sheepishly. His head snapped up suddenly and he gave you his best signature, goofy smile that made your heart melt. He was dressed in lots of layers and looked like he planned on going out as well. With a scarf loosely wrapped around his neck and a pair of gloves tucked into his pocket.

"Hey!" he waved, "I must've been good this year because Santa decided to give me this present early." he said. Cheesy pick up lines were his specialty, and this one was especially cheesy.

"Ugghhhh, that one was too much," you groaned.

"I do have to get going though, otherwise I'll be late and my family won't be too happy with me." you said.

"Yeah, I figured as much, so I thought I'd come along and maybe even drive you there?" he questioned. You blinked at him. Your face was heating up at the thought of him driving you in his car. What would your family say? You thought.

"Sure!" you gleefully said, clasping your hands together and smiling brightly. A slight blush came across Kaminari's cheeks.

"Let's go then!" he said excitedly. Then, with nothing but a pick up line and a small conversation. He managed to come along with you to your family's Christmas caroling fun.

Once you two got to the designated spot you went from house to house singing joyful carols and laughing. Going to each person's house and bringing them Christmas cheer when they had trouble leaving their houses.

They thanked you each time, giving warm hugs to all. Denki laughed throughout, dazzling the elders and your family. They all complimented him on his singing skills, despite the belief that he sung terribly.

Every time he looked at you full of spirit and holiday delight, he'd go red. Though everyone else thought it was from the cold, your mom even offered a winter hat to the red-faced Denki. You scoffed as he awkwardly took it and fixed it on his head. He looked so good.

When it was half an hour till midnight, you looped your arm around Kaminari's shoulders. Waving you family a goodbye, the two of you trudged through the snow-covered sidewalk of the last house. Excited to get back to the warmth of the car.

On your way home, you spoke up.

"Hey, why did you decide to come in the first place?" you asked, very curiously.

"I thought it would be nice to meet your family," he blatantly stated.

"Oh," you were not expecting that answer. You were hoping it was another cheesy pick-up line or a sappy reason. This was not the Denki you knew at all.

"Hey, did something happen back there?" you questioned. He looked confused but kept driving.

"I'm not sure what you're implying, Listener," he said. Your name coming out like a whisper.

"I mean you aren't as goofy and flirty as usual," you stated. Still concerned for his well being.

"Well..." he started. Then his whole face went red and he smiled like an idiot.

"I need you like Christmas lights need electricity to glow," he muttered. Even when being genuine, his confession came out as another pick-up line. Confidence usually radiated off of him when he flirted, but this time was different.

"What?" you said trying to take in what he said.

"I... like you," he stammered. You smiled.

"I like you too," you said giddily. Kaminari got a surge of confidence and pulled you towards him. In a split second you found your lips locked onto his. Christmas caroling with your family sure was a hit this year, but your new found love in Kaminari. Instead of a best friend, but now a lover. Was so much better than that. Kaminari almost short circuited at that. You were glad you were at the dorms, and you were safe from him driving in that state. This would be the best Christmas ever, as long as you spent it with him. Dragging him to his room, you whispered, "goodnight" in a sweet voice. Giving him a kiss as he tensed up. He waved, his face all gooey.

"Goodnight, Listener!" he called behind you. Leaving him to stare, you walked off to your dorm. Excited, happy, and tired. 

"Today was the best day ever," you said as you drifted off to sleep.
