i'm sitting in class with my seatmate, it's break time right now so we're spending our break time watching our favourite anime, haikyuu. we're watching it together on her laptop as we ate our lunch. we're watching the ova episode where fukurodani is going against nekoma. i was watching in peace while eating my food but then suddenly my friend kept nudging me on the shoulder. she paused the episode and i reluctantly turned towards her.
"yes? what is it sasha?"
"look what i found, (___)!" she said as she took out her phone and shoved it towards me.
"hm? reality shifting?" i asked.
"yeah! it's trending right now! i saw some people doing it on youtube and also on tiktok" she said, grinning.
"it's probably not gonna work sasha.. it seems kinda far fetched" i commented, pressing the space bar on sasha's laptop to continue watching the episode. sasha immediately paused the episode again and continued talking about this reality shifting thing.
"i've tried it last night actually and i think i almost got it, i almost shifted to the haikyuu universe but as i realised i woke up in another reality, i panicked and woke up back to our reality.. i was so close though!!" she said as she softly slapped her cheeks in annoyance.
"huh? what are you babbling on about.. i'm trying to watch the ova" i replied.
"here just look!" she said, giving her phone to me and i took it and read what was on screen. "reality shifting, or shifting. which, despite sounding a lot like just meditating, can supposedly move someone's consciousness over to a newreality" i read, what in the world?
"looks fun right?" sasha teased.
"i don't know, looks kinda surreal to me" i said as i took another bite of my food.
"don't be so negative, (___)! why don't you try it someday? it might work if you believe that it will!" she said, before taking her juice box and taking a sip.
i know what sasha is talking about feels so surreal and odd.. but she said the same things a few weeks ago about manifesting, i tried to manifest good scores for my midterms just to see if it works and weirdly enough it lowkey worked, i studied yes but the effort i made doesn't really balance itself with the results, i mostly got above 90 or A on my midterms and yet, i also felt like i didn't study that much.

as the day ends, i found myself walking to my room and staring at the manifesting notebook that i placed on my desk, i read the page where i manifested good scores, i wrote—
"i'm going to have good scores for my midterms"
—on every single line on the notebook page. maybe if this manifesting thing isn't so far fetched, this reality shifting thing could actually work too? i read about it again online, i found that people would make scripts or like a base story to use when they're shifting to a different reality, and use some type of different methods to shift while they listen to subliminal audios, but i also found that people could also shift unconsciously to their desired reality without doing much, it's different for every person i suppose.
i laid on my bed staring at my ceiling still thinking about that whole reality shifting concept, i kinda find it amusing. actually shifting to a different reality? a fictional one too? nah there's no way it's real. i closed my eyes and counted to a hundred, it helps me sleep by counting slowly. as i reach a hundred i can feel my body relaxing, only to be interrupted soon after i finally feel relaxed enough to fall asleep.
"hey hey hey! wake up!" i heard a voice call out.
"mom i just closed my eyes to sleep.. why are you waking me up..?" i said in annoyance as i slowly opened my eyes. "oh my god"
"are you new here? i've never seen you in akaashi's class before, what's your name?" he said.
"bokuto?! bokuto koutarou?!" i shouted. i noticed the clothes i'm wearing have changed to a school uniform, the fukurodani uniform, i'm also in a classroom with so many unfamiliar people, and them?! bokuto koutarou and akaashi keiji.. i'm actually on the same side as them, i'm seeing them right in front of me, and not through a screen?! wait did i just unconsciously shifted to the haikyuu universe?! no this isn't real, it can't be real.
"wow you know my name? i mean i am the captain of the volleyball team in our school, wow akaashi i'm famous!" he shouted and grinned towards akaashi.
"yes, bokuto-san" akaashi replied.
"what's your name?" bokuto asked leaning towards me.
"i'm- i'm (___)" i replied telling him my name.
"are you a new student here?" he asked again.
"i guess i am?" i answered unsurely.
"well nice to meet you, (___)-chan! i'll be going with akaashi now, see you later!" bokuto said smiling and left with akaashi.
i immediately woke up in cold sweat, i looked around to find myself back in my room and back in my original clothes, holy shit i just shifted to another universe?! no, no way! this can't be real.
