4am

"Yong, love your pager is going off," Moonbyul mumbled in the mess of dark hair she was laying on, tapping her fingers on Solar's stomach, where her hand was resting. Solar didn't reply and stayed in her deep sleep, wiggling back deeper unconsciously into her wife. "Solar," Moonbyul said a little louder, sitting up slightly and sweeping Solar's hair to the top of the pillow, so she could kiss the back of her neck to wake her up. "Wake up, my love."

"Byul..." She sighed as she stirred and started to wake up. "Later love, I promise." She mumbled, grabbing Moonbyul's hand and kissing it before tucking it under her chin and exhaling softly.

Moonbyul laughed softly. "Your pager keeps going off."

"Oh." Solar stirred and blindly reached over to the bedside table picking up her pager, she forced her eyes open and groaned when she saw the emergency page. "Fuck." She sighed while reaching for the phone and quickly calling the hospital. Moonbyul stays cuddled behind her attempting to fall back asleep, her head resting on Solar's shoulder and her arm back around her waist.

This is Dr. Yi-Kim, I got a page.

What are her vitals?

Okay, I'll be there as soon as I can, I'm leaving my house in ten minutes, get her prepped for surgery now.

Have Dr. Lee ready to scrub in with me.

Solar hung the phone up and turned over to face Moonbyul, noticing her eyes were open. "I gotta go in to work."

"I heard." Moonbyul nodded. "Are you okay to do a surgery, we had a few drinks, and you are still exhausted, your eyes are barely open now." She tucked her hair behind her hair and ran her knuckles down her wife's jaw line.

After feeding the girls last night Seulgi showed up to babysit Sun and Star for Moonbyul and Solar while they had dinner with some clients for Moonbyul. Solar, even as tired as she was, played the role of the engaging and social wife entertaining the client's wife, while Moonbyul closed the account. Moonbyul could tell how exhausted she was, noticing every time she subtly bit her lip to keep from yawning, how she only had one glass of wine so she didn't get any more tired, how she slammed glass after glass of ice water to stay as alert as possible, and how she kept her hand on Moonbyul's lap. After dinner, Moonbyul declined to go dancing with the client and his wife, even though Solar told them she didn't mind going and it seemed fun, but she knew her wife and knew she wanted to head home. They however, did take advantage of their night out, and stopped at a lounge, where they cuddled in one of the booths while listening to some live music and having a few more drinks, and talking. After a hearing the band perform a set, they headed home, where Solar drifted to sleep in the car around 11pm. After checking on their daughters, Star sitting awake in her crib, fussy for some reason, they were both finally in bed and asleep by midnight.

"I'll be fine." Solar nodded as her eyes fluttered close and she nestled her head under Moonbyul's chin as she sighed, hugging her tightly.

"Solar, I'm not saying not to go, I know you have to go do the surgery, but it's 4 in the morning..." Moonbyul shook her head and rubbed her back. "You've only gotten three hours of sleep roughly since we got home, and I know you didn't get a lot of sleep with Star earlier today."

Solar opened her eyes and smiled at her before pressing their lips together. "It's what I signed up for, love when I became a surgeon and a mother." She winked. "I'll be okay. I'll just grab some coffee."

"I'll make you some while you get dressed." Moonbyul yawned as Solar pecked her lips again and rolled out of bed, making her way to use the bathroom. Moonbyul pulled out some scrubs for Solar and set them on the bed before she went downstairs, baby monitor in hand, and began to make coffee and toast for Solar.
