Disclaimer: I do not own reign (as much as I wish I did) and in this Elizabeth is married to Robert Dudley and has a child/children I'm not sure yet (because I can).

Long after the dance between the Queen and Bothwell ended, the whispers persisted into the dark of the night. The chemistry between these two individuals was undeniable, all within its reach felt its power.

As the candles burned out the pregnant Queen contemplated the events of the previous evening. A plan began to form in her head, she saw the way Francis had looked at her. As if she were his possession, well he would soon learn that she belonged to no man.

Her main priority now was the safety of her child. The child was the future of Scotland, and she vowed then and there that no one would hurt this child. If she had to destroy everyone in her path even Francis then so be it.

It was then she realised that there was another who shared her pain, her anguish. Her sister Queen. Mary was after all Queen of half an isle. If her plan was to work she would need the advice of her cousin Elizabeth. The turbulent relationship between Elizabeth and her husband Robert Dudley. Any man would kill to be in his position, to be the husband of a Queen, yet he risked it all for a liaison with the fiery haired lettice Knollys.

If anyone knew what to do it would be Elizabeth. They were more alike than people presumed, the only difference was their religious beliefs. Mary hoped that they would stand together: The two queens of one island. United they would be unstoppable.

Mary would wait and bide her time. She had all the time in the world and when Francis and Lola and everyone else least expected then she would strike. She would reclaim what was hers and no one could stop her. Lola had messed with the wrong woman.

Author's note: I hope everyone is staying safe and well during the current pandemic.
