Chapter 6

Monday came fast. I woke up to my alarm rudely awaking me. I slammed my alarm off and climbed out of bed. I walked into my closet and slid on jeans, a tank top and my leather jacket. I walked into my bathroom and reached into my drawer. I held the orange pill bottle in my hand. I popped it open dumping two pills into my hand. Images of Peter and the wall, Annie punching me flashed through my head. I looked up at my face which had nice bruises on my cheekbones from Annie. Ben told me I got her good too. Ben, I can't believe we... He's like two different people. I never know what he's doing. One second he's yelling at me about punching his girlfriend the next he's in my bathroom having sex with me. One week into school and my life is a jumbling mess. Again. I tossed the pills back in the bottle and stuffed it back in my drawer. I can go without them. Lindsey met up with me the moment I entered the hallway at school. Instantly people made way for me as I started walking the halls.

"What's going on?" I looked to Lindsey skeptically

"You put Annie in her place, a lot of people are impressed" Lindsey smiled happily walking beside me to my locker "Anything happen after I left Saturday?"

"No" I replied instantly "I mean nothing crazy" I scratched the back of my neck nervously 

"Hey Jenny" A few random people smiled as they walked past me and I just waved back

"Yikes, Annie isn't going to be happy about this..." Lindsey shrugged "You got her good though!" 

"Did she?" A voice spoke from behind us I turned around to see Callie standing behind me trying to hold onto her smile

"Hey Callie" I smiled nicely

"Yeah sorry about Friday..." Lindsey furrowed her brows "I just was getting into the game and thought you might want to know"

"It's fine" Callie smiled "I just thought I'd warn you" She turned to face me "Annie is on a warpath. You're where she's set and she won't stop until you're done for"

"Whatever" I shrugged grabbing my few books from my locker

"Annie can dig up any dirt she wants. She can find out anything that's out there. If you have any secrets she will find them" Callie's smile faded as she turned on her heel and walked off

"She's right you know" Lindsey agreed following me to my first class "Annie can find out anything or everything"

"It's fine. Let her" I shrugged fully knowing if she found out about my dad or about him that I would have a lot of issues. My phone started buzzing in my pocket. 'Unknown' "I'll catch you later" I looked to Lindsey who shrugged and walked off her red hair bouncing in her ponytail with every step

"Hello" I answered my phone dipping into a bathroom and locking the door

You are receiving this call from Virginia State Penitentiary do you accept the charges?

Yes.

I waited a second as my breath seemingly disappeared and my chest felt tight.

I miss you too. How are things with Amanda? I know you aren't happy with her, but she wanted you to come to her instead of John, John can barely care for himself let alone two children.
