Prologue

          Nothingness.  That was what it was.  All around him, it was nothningness.  It even seemed that he was a part of the nothingness himself, as he wasn't aware of any of it.  And then, he WAS aware.  It was like a single drop of black ink falling into a cup of water. He peered to his left, and then his right, yet his void-like surroundings remained the same.

          That seemed... odd. Shouldn't something be there? Wasn't there something he was supposed to be looking for? "hello?" he faltered, "is anyone there?" He was answered with silence.

          "hello?" he said again, raising his voice slightly, glancing around some more. There had to be something here.

But there wasn't. Only Nothingness. That was what it was. All around him, it was N o t h i n g n e s s.
