《Hypocrite 23》is a short novel that talks about two people who met in high school in Beijing, China. It takes place after the death of the female lead, and most scenes are flashbacks that the male lead is having. The story mainly focuses on the love-hate relationship between the two, both being sweet and salty at the same time. Mu Xianyang, a shy boy who slowly falls in love with Li Yiqing, a high-class lady and the only person willing to talk to him. A tragic event breaks the two apart into two very different worlds. Will they meet again? Or will destiny split them up forever?
Main leads
Mu Xianyang (慕羡杨): Male, age 27, 184cm. With long bangs that covered most of his cold, brown eyes, Mu Xianyang is the ideal distant and shy boyfriend. He would be that kid you see in school who has no friends, sits in the back of the room, good-looking but quiet, gets perfect grades, bankrupt. Everyone talks about him behind his back.
Li Yiqing (李怡情): Female, (would be) age 27, 168cm. Long brown hair, big brown eyes, small face. A typical Chinese girl. Her looks, not the best. Her grades, not the top. But her personality is what makes her very likeable. Li Yiqing comes from a very wealthy family but claims she does not want to be in the house with them. She is nice but still popular. Super rich but not spoiled or snobby. She doesn't want to get dragged into drama and helps out everyone.
