You belong with me [darren criss]

Chapter 2

I just finished fixing my wavy hair when I heard the doorbell ring. I walked through to the hallway and opened the door. Darren was standing there and in his hands were a bunch of flowers.

“A welcome to the cast of glee gift!” He exclaimed handing me the flowers. I led him through to the kitchen of my house and I put the flowers into a vase.

I turned around and looked at what he was wearing. He was in a black tuxedo and black shirt but his tie was a rich blue and it matched my dress perfectly!

“That’s why you wanted me to send you a picture of my dress!” I giggled. He laughed and nodded.

“You look great!” He said suddenly. I looked down subconsciously to remember what I was wearing. I was in a rich blue dress which matched Darren’s tie and it reached my knees. Instead of wearing heels, I was wearing by navy blue converse and they matched my dress perfectly.

He grinned. “I like converse more than heels!” He exclaimed randomly as we were driving towards a restaurant where I’m guessing Chris Colfer’s Struck By Lightning party was being held.

As me and Darren got out the car, the paparazzi started taking photos of us. He grabbed my hand and pulled me into the restaurant.

I’m guessing we must be slightly late because Chris walked over with a unpleased expression on his face. “Darren, you were meant to be here fifteen minutes ago.”

Darren just laughed and patted Chris on the shoulder who then proceed to sigh. “I’d like you to meet someone!” He exclaimed happily lightly dragging my wrist forward so I was closer to Chris.

Chris smirked and Darren quickly realised why he was smirking. “No, not like that! We’re friends, this is Ciara Helson! She’s the new girl to join the cast of Glee, remember how we auditioned this morning?” Chris nodded. “Well Ryan liked her so much he hired her on the spot! She’s amazing!” I blushed and Chris looked shocked.

“Ryan never hires people on the spot, you must be amazing!” I blushed again and Chris looked suspiciously at me and Darren again before a look of wonder appeared on his face. He smirked and I could almost see the light bulb appear above his head.

“Well seeing as you were late I have a way that you could make it up to me.” He smirked and tilted his head slightly. I gulped.

“Continue.” Darren said narrowing his eyes playfully. Chris just kept grinning.

“Well, the entertainment cancelled because of illness and I was going to just leave it but seeing as you are a good performer Darren and Ciara, you’re meant to be brilliant, you can do a duet for us all.” Not giving us anytime to argue or justify what he said, he sauntered off to go speak to Lea.

I turned to look at Darren to find he was already grinning like a hyena at me.

“So what song are we singing?” He asked grinning from ear to ear. I looked at him in disbelief.

“Are you joking me? I don’t even know anyone here!” He winked and lightly punched me in the arm.

“First impressions are always the best. Well apart from second.” I giggled and hesitantly went along with it.

Darren and I quickly decided on what song we would do. He decided that he would play the guitar and that I would play the piano and we would do an acoustic version of ‘State Of Grace’ by Taylor Swift.

I sat behind the piano as Darren introduced him and I to everyone at the party. He explained that I was about to join Glee tomorrow and that Ryan hired me on the spot. At this point, everyone turned to look at Ryan who nodded in approval and stuck his thumbs up towards the stage.

As we started to play and sing I noticed a few people giving Ryan approving nods and my confidence built and my nerves flew away like they were ripped leaves in the wind.

As we finished the song, everyone was one their feet (if they weren’t already) and was cheering for me and Darren.

He pulled me into his side and hugged me all the while ruffling my hair. I shoved him playfully as we left the stage.

I got many pats on the back and ‘well done’s as Darren and I walked over to Chris who was grinning like a Cheshire cat.

“What?” Darren asked suspiciously. Chris just shook his head and skipped away.

The DJ started to play a slow song and couple’s started to dance. I was tapped on the shoulder and turned around to find Darren holding his hand out.

“Care to dance?” I nodded and slipped my hand into his. I hadn’t even noticed that I still was wearing my Starkid bracelet but Darren did. He ran his finger over the string.

“I’m guessing you’re a fan then?” I blushed and nodded. He laughed and put his hands on my waist as I put mine around his neck. I could see out of the corner of my eye Chris and Lea jumping up and down while pointing at us but I chose to ignore it.

I also noticed that Lea and Cory had just joined the dance floor too. I smirked to myself. AS the song ended, Chris announced that the party was almost over. As various celebrities started to leave, by the end of the night there was only Darren, Chris and I left.

Chris asked if we were leaving at the same time as him or if we were staying and actually going to eat something.

I was about to respond when Darren cut in.

“I think we’ll get a bit of food in our system eh Ciara?” I nodded and waved goodbye to Chris as he left.
