Now it started. The day we hoped would never came. I was all alone, i walked towards the gun store that was already raided from all guns. The only thing i seen left in the whole store was a crossbow. I knew how to use a crossbow. Its just it was diffucult for me to use since it was so heavy. I grabbed the remaining arrows and walked out. Slingin the crossbow over my shoulders and over my backpack filled with food, clothes and water. I was smart when it came to it.

I hummed a tune, not caring about the noises of screamin women or children. I was cold hearted an i hated everyone. I looked towards the zombie who were now chasing me. I blinked, grippin my crossbow, slinging it to grab it. It was already loaded with a sharp arrow. I snapped the trigger and shot it in the leg. "Damn it." I mumbled under my breath. I ran towards it. Jumping up at the right moment and stomped right onto the dead man's head. He quickly stopped moving. I yanked my arrow from his leg and ran away from the corpse as more gathered around. My black hair bounced against my back. My blue eyes searchin for a hiding spot.

I grunted loudly. Feelin pain in my leg as it spread quickly. I havent ran this fast since i exited the military. I ran into an opening door which automatically stopped in my spot. "Holy... Shit!" I spun around and ran the other way as at least 10 walkers ran out of the store. "Come on! Come on!" I shouted to myself as i sprint towards the exit of the city. I was in a popular city with thousands of people. Which means more walker. I panted hard as i continued running. I couldnt take it much longer. My lungs, my body, my mind was tired of foucing on one thing... Stayin alive.

I knew slowin down wouldnt be the best idea since i was still near the city. I slowed down to a walk when i thought i was far enough from the city. I took a deep, painful breath in. Coughing and spitting stuff up. It hurt to breath. It hurts to walk, it hurts to do anything at all. I walked slowly. Sitting down on the side of the road. This was going to go great for me! No way possible was i to live like this. I sighed, looking up at the sky. Thinking about my family down a few towns. Wondered if they got out alive. My brother was a marine same with me and my dad. Mom had a fair shot since she was a hunter. They are fine.

I got up and walked again. I need a car, i need to go find a safe plan till a good plan. I found a small woods near a lake. It would block my scent. I jumped into the lake with no clothes on. It was cold. But it was nice. I smiled softly. I dove under soakin my head then came back up. I heard someone whisling. I snapped my head towards the whisling. I dove under the water. I heard chuckling, i lifted my head to see a man with a missing hand. He stared at mee with a smirk. I looked at the crossbow layin against the rock. "Dont you think about it woman." He said while leanin against a tree. "Who are you?" I asked coverin my chest, he chuckled. "I am Merle Dixon woman."
