"Hey," Katie said as she nudged Taylor's arm, "try and have fun tonight okay. We're finally going to be seniors!"
Linking her arm through Taylor's she pulled her over to the fire that blazed in the center of the campground. Her red cup sloshing dark liquid over the edge as she sat down on a camping chair. A glint shone in her eyes as she spotted her boyfriend stepping out of the pickup truck that parked next to row of cars. Hopping up she ran to him wrapping her arms around his neck in a warm embrace.
Turning from the fire Taylor smiles as she sees Katie and Josh walk over.
"Hey Tay, what's up?" Josh's voice was swallowed by the noise of the crowd of kids mingling around.
"Oh ya know just being held against my will on a camping trip," She teased.
Katie twirled a lick of her brunette between her fingers, "Come on Tay you would just being spending the weekend at home in your boring room. You never do anything fun it's time to start the beginning of the rest of our lives!"
Taking the cup from Katie's hand Josh took a sip, "Pretty sure you've had enough of this," he said with a wink.
Rolling her eyes playfully she led him to the table of snacks.
Sighing Taylor pulled out her phone letting its screen illuminate her pale face.
Love you Tay, call me in the morning! Dad is going crazy without you
The corners of her lips pulled down to form a frown. Right on cue her right leg began to bounce up and down. Stress of the plans that will be taking place later tonight filled her. Tingling ran down her arms into her finger tips.
"Uh oh she's doing it again," Katie voiced when she returned with snacks. Her golden locket shove from the reflection of the fire.
Josh let out a deep laugh, "I swear Tay you have to stop letting your face get all scrunchy when your worried. There is nothing to be worried about all were are doing is camping."
Shaking her head Tay laughed them off, "My face does not get all scrunchy!"

The night drew long and eventually Taylor's nerves settled slightly. She danced around the fire with Katie as music drifted through the trees around them.
"You ready for tonight?" Katie whispered leaning in close.
"As ready as I will ever be I assume. Are you?" Taylor replied.
Katie stole a glance at Josh before answering, "Yeah. I just wish I could tell him."
"Kate the whole point of running away is that no one knows," Taylor forced through a reassuring grin.
Nodding Katie took Taylor's hand and spun her around as the song faded out.
Josh strode over to the girls and tossed Taylor a bag of chips.
"Will that be proper payment for a dance with this beauty?" He said nodding towards Katie.
"A bag of chips could probably be enough payment to make me walk to the moon," she remarked, "I think I'm going to turn in for tonight though."
"I'll try not to wake you when check in," voiced Katie.
"I probably won't be asleep by then I have a hot date with these chips," Taylor snorted.
Josh let out a deep laugh before whisking Katie around. Making her way to the tent Taylor took a last look at the mess of people around the fire. A shiver went up her spine as a breeze swept by. Unzipping the tent she crawled in careful to remove her shoes so to let track in dirt. For the hundredth time she looked through her large backpack making sure everything was ready for the morning. She let herself slide into the sleeping bag soaking in its warmth. A hand reached for the locket that hung around her neck. Her thumb tracing the tiny details of its face. Sleep pulled her under like water rushing around her.

That was 365 days ago. 365 days since the world seemed so attainable, so feasible. Since she was last seen.
