You couldn't kill him, not at all, but time was ticking and you needed to work fast. After hours and hours of dancing, you took him to the garden, into an isolated place with a gentle smile. "Are you going to kill me?" he asked, his eyes glittering under the dim lights. The dagger shook in your fingertips, nearly dropping out of your hands. You had him pinned down, ready to exact your revenge. After years of pain and mourning, you would finish off the man who caused you such distress. "My love..." he raised his hand to touch the side of your face. "If you wish to kill me my sweet, then I won't stop you. "STOP CONFUSING ME!" you choked out. It seemed as if a tape was on rewind. You gained his trust, he opened up to you. You had shared forbidden kisses in the corridors at night. You had went on outings and adventure like no other with this man. Make no mistake! It was all part of your plan...wasn't it?...it all led to you getting him alone in his bedroom on the night of the Gala where he planned to propose to you. "You took everything from me! Your father was a cruel and worthless king and you followed in his footsteps so blindly!" your eye narrowed as you tightened your grasp around your weapon of choice. "Why would I show mercy to someone who took my happiness from me?". You could feel the crescendo of the orchestra from the festivities going on downstairs, it made your ears thump. "Then do it...if I could die staring into your eyes, drinking in the essence of your soul...then you'll have given me a death I'll happily accept." Your heart felt like it was gonna give out any second. You dropped it. You let go of your weapon, an immense self hatred building inside of your chest. "I can't." you whispered, feeling your eyes start to sting from the slow building tears you desperately tried to fight back. "I love you..." Upon saying this, the prince laced his fingers through yours. A smile graced his lips. "Then marry me."
