Yeonjun's hair blew against the wind. He lifted his leg and pushed it down against the pedals of his bike, making the fancy vehicle of a typical high schooler go faster and faster.
As he came to a stop sign— paired up with a traffic light a few feet above it, Yeonjun pushed the break on his bike, coming to a squeaky stop made by the tires of the old and worn out tires.
It had been 2 hours since he and Wooyoung had decided to ditch school to eat ice cream together. The yummy dessert had really helped Yeonjun's bitter mood shift to a much sweater one. So, now he felt happier and more outgoing, especially since he was on his way to pick up his little sisters.
Since his stepfather worked for most of the day and his mother didn't have a car, Yeonjun was the one that came to pick them up.
He wasn't gonna lie. . . His little sisters were a pain in the ass.
He hated it when they forced him into that stupid blue tutu for their tea time roleplay and specially despised it whenever they would tell on him whenever he got a slightly rude or rough with them. They were brats . . . But at the end of the day, those two little brats were his little brats. They were the only good thing that his stepfather brought to his life. Blame it on his "Older Brother, Must Protect" code, but he would exterminate anyone who dared to even lift a finger at them.
They were sweet girls when they didn't choose violence over settling their differences with candies and dino chicken nuggets. They would always come to his room to comfort him instead of letting him cry himself to sleep like he usually does, and they would often listen to his unending rants with the promise of never spilling his deepest secrets to anyone. Not even their parents.
A loud honk almost made Yeonjun jump off his bike, suddenly bringing him back to reality. He dipped his head to the driver and began to paddle again along the path that would lead to his sisters.
Ugh, too much for indulging in his never ending thoughts.
Yeonjun directed his bike up a small ramp near the elementary school. He then settled his bike to the side where two pink and purple bikes were standing, their pretty princess-themed decorations smiling brightly at him.
Yeonjun felt threatened by those smiles, so he just directed his gaze towards the bunch of tiny unplanned mistakes running out the school's exit towards their buses and their parents' cars. He hopped off the bike and blew a strand of hair away from his forehead, already knowing the drill.
"Three, two, one."
Two pretty girls with matching duckling raincoats raced out of the building. The toughest one between the two pushed past a crowd, making some kids slip into puddles of rain and piled up mud, while the other one moved at a slower pace only so she could say goodbye to her first-ever crush.
The small boy gave her a little piece of colored paper—which Yeonjun believed to be a love note, and waved her goodbye as he had to stay for some tutoring.
Yeonjun arched his brow with interest and looked at his glittery pink-colored nails, which—of course, his sisters had painted for him yesterday during their weekly manicure session.
He might have to have a "Boy-to-brother" talk with that kid later on the week. . . And by talk, he means threaten.
As he planned his master plan to shoo the little boy away from his precious sister once he gets the perfect receipts to ruin that fairytale relationship, Yeonjun finally had to look down when two heavyweights wrapped around his legs, almost knocking him to the ground.
