"I told you it was a mistake," he said as he ran his slim fingers through his hair in frustration.
I stared at him in awe as I felt the tears well up in my eyes. "You know that I've loved you since middle school and you have the AUDACITY to make that kind of mistake?"
He responded in silence, staring down at his feet.
After all these years of loving him, I thought I finally understood him and I thought I was finally given a chance to be part of his life. But clearly, I was wrong. "You're sick," I mumbled. "Don't ever talk to me again."
Then I walked away, biting down on my lower lip trying my best not to cry.
And that was the last time I saw him.
