chapter two

It was the next morning and I had a hard time rolling out of bed. The day outside was gloomy as my mood and I didn't feel like going to school today.

It was unfortunate that I had classes.

I was worried that today was the day I might encounter Noah. I was dreading as soon as I woke up until now.

But I couldn't let this get to me. I had to tell myself that I was just overthinking things.

I quickly got ready for school, throwing on a pair of sweats and a hoodie. If you couldn't tell already, I liked comfy clothes especially on a gloomy day like this.

Grabbing my keys, I walked out of my apartment. Micky had an early class today, so she had left earlier while I was sleeping.

Putting my airpods into my ears, I closed the door behind me and locked it before to playing Daddy Issues by The Neighbourhood on my phone.

Stepping out onto the concrete with the sad skies above my head, I placed a cigarette between my lips and lit it up with my lighter before I started to walk away from the apartment.

It took five songs for me to reach the university's campus and when I arrived, I just really wanted to turn around then head home.

The rain had started pouring down and my clothes were getting soaked. I was dumb and didn't think about grabbing my raincoat before leaving the apartment.

Sighing, I walked through the campus as my black converse were getting drenched along with my clothes.

Arriving to the building where my lecture was located, I headed to the bathroom to attempt to dry my clothes off with paper towels. My grey hoodie and sweats were so wet that my whole outfit became a shade darker. With that, my dark hair had become frizzy with it being under the hood.

I pulled the hair-tie off my wrist then quickly put my hair into a bun before heading out of the bathroom to my lecture.

When I stepped inside the lecture room, I noticed that it was already almost full. Scanning the room, I find a spot in the left corner.

As I am making my way over to the seat, my shoulder brushes against someones as they're walking past me and in that moment a familiar scent had caught my nose.

It was a strong, musky smell that was hard to not recognize.

Whipping my head back around, I see Jacob Becket.

I watched him walk further away from me towards a seat on the other side next to some guy, who I assume was his friend. His tall figure along with his broad, muscular shoulders... with his short dirty blonde hair. Nothing about him has changed since the last time I had seen him last year.

He didn't seem to recognize me, or maybe it was that he didn't realize it was me. But I felt relieved that he didn't recognize me as it would've been really awkward.

Turning back around, I walked towards the empty seat I had eyed earlier and sat in the chair.

Placing my backpack on the floor, I take out my notebook and pen placing it on the table in front of me.

Even though I seemed calm and contained, I really wasn't. Jacob Becket was the next person after Noah that I didn't want to see.

Jacob and I had met last year. We met through mutual friends at a small party. He and I kinda had a thing going on, but it didn't progress further because I was so hung up on Noah. I felt bad and selfish because I'm pretty sure I ended up hurting Jacob but there was no point of me regretting it when it had already happened.

Sighing, I tried to push all the unnecessary thoughts out of my head and waited for the professor to begin the lecture.

***

The lecture had ended in a breeze.

As soon as it was over, I shoved my belongings into my backpack before heading out of the lecture room out the building.

The rain had stopped and the sun was peeking through the dark clouds.

Taking my phone out of my pocket, I dialed Micky.

"Hello," I said through the phone.

Hello, are you done with class?

"Yeah, are you?"

Yeah, I'll meet you in the west parking lot.

"Okay, see you soon."

With that, I shoved my phone back into my pocket before I started heading towards the parking lot.

There were a lot of people on campus today, more than yesterday. A lot of faces which I recognized from parties.

I used to go to crazy amount of parties in my first year of university. My mom hated it but I didn't stop.

I guess I'm kind of a wild child. Or I was. I think I'm more retained now.

It felt like ten minutes of walking before I actually started seeing the parking lot.

Seeing Micky besides her white Toyota Camry, I picked up my pace.

It was only when I was a few steps away from the car when I heard a very, very familiar voice call out, "Micky! Is that you?"

My heart had dropped in that moment and I wanted to crawl inside a hole.

•••

Chapter two, KINDA SLOW. But the first couple of chapters are all introductory. I promise it's going to get more dramatic and SPICY.

And also, maybe I will keep the chapters short because long chapters are sometimes boring.

I hope you enjoyed this chapter though (۶•̀•́)۶

Next chapter will be better, promise!

Thanks for reading
