Lenny and I were heading towards our usual table in the corner before Leia called us over to the 'popular' table. Ellen sat there...
There was another girl at the table; she had pretty brown hair and green eyes.
She also looked like she would pass out.
"Come on, brat," Lenny dragged me over. I couldn't stop staring at this new girl.
"He-" I started.
"Who are you?" My sister asked, totally interrupting me. Way to be friendly, Len.
"Adriana," The girl, Adriana, said, half-dead.
"Nice name, I'm Jacquline. Call me Lenny, please," Lenny said, smiling.
"Hey, Lenny," Adriana said, still with that dead look in her eyes.
"Are you ok?" I knew Lenny, and right now, she was genuinely scared.
"No..." Adriana's eyes rolled forward and she fainted.
Leia slapped her face.
"Way to go, doofus," I mocked, speaking for the first time.
"Hey, I panicked! It will work," She defended. I laughed.
"Yeah, and I'm a ballerina,"
"You're a ballerina?" Adriana's voice startled me. There was something in her voice, and I could tell she was holding back her laughter. Weird.
"Yeah, right," I snorted. She laughed, a sweet, clear laugh.
"Who are you?"
"Logan. Lenny's better half," Lenny shoved me and rolled her eyes. We both sat down at the table, on the opposite side of Adriana and Leia.
"You ok, Adriana?" Lenny asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine,"
"Can we call you Adri?"
"No!!" Her voice showed she was scared. And the fear in her eyes. I wonder what her past holds.
"Well, then, can we call you A?"
Adriana took a breath. "Yes,"
After we finished lunch, Lenny and I walked towards the English classroom, after saying goodbye to Leia and Adriana.
"What was that about?" Lenny asked me after we were out of earshot.
"How should I know? I met her thirty minutes ago," I said, rolling my eyes.
Lenny shrugged.
"Just wondering," So was I, but I'd never have admitted it.
