Chapter two

-Annie's pov-

Theo. His hazel eyes looked straight into mine. The way he looked at me was if he was trying to decipher one of my books that were in french. It was like I was an entire new language to him. After what seemed like hours he finally started to walk over to me.

He sat down across from me at the table. We were the only ones awake this early in the morning. What was he doing awake I wondered. Then the thought struck me, had I woken him up when I kissed him on his forehead?! I knew that wasn't a smart idea. I it was like something forced me to do it. Something about him made me feel this way. But I wasn't quite sure what.

I looked up from my book and smiled at him. He smiled back. His smile made my heart leap, and again I was quite unsure why. Then he started the conversation that we had both been denying to start.

"Good morning Rori"

Ugh. He knew I didn't like it when he called me that. Everyone around here called me Annie but he called me Rori.

"Good morning" I replied back.

-Theodore's pov-

She got the look on her face when I called her Rori. I studied her for a moment before speaking once again. She has her hair pulled back as usual. I don't think I have ever seen her hair down in the two years I've known her. She was wearing a blazer which was super cute. But I didn't tell her that. I noticed she was reading something but I couldn't see the cover.

"What are you reading?"

She looked up at me and then replied back "Le petit Prince" She looked right back down into her book and continued to read.

I wondered what it was about but thought it might be too hard to explain.

But against my better judgment I questioned "What's it about?"

She looked up with a questioning glance. I have never been interested in her books. She was probably wondering what had changed.

"Um. Well, it's a novel from the 1940s about a prince who travels to different planets and observes them."

I was unsure what to say next. But then she closed her book and grabbed some food. I copied her movements and grabbed some food as well.

"Theo, what are you doing up this early?"

" I woke up on the couch in the common room. The cold must have woken me up. I couldn't go back to sleep so I just got ready for the day." I replied back nervously. I didn't want her to know that I was awake when she kissed my forehead.

"Oh. I fell asleep in the common room last night as well. Reading this." she gestured to her book.

"So I assume it must be a pretty boring book then."

"Not as boring as sitting alone in a windowsill by myself."

"Maybe next time I'll join you then. Make it less boring. Unless of course you get bored of me too."

"Well you're going to have to prove that you're more interesting than this book." she stated back and then smiled. Her smile warmed up the entire room. I smiled back.

I checked my watch and it was 7:00am and right on queue kids started slowly trickling into the great hall. The first one to join us at the table was Draco. He smirked at me before sitting down next to Rori.
