Karma's Touch (Karma Akabane X OC)

I'm sitting at my regular seat at the back of the room, waiting for Koro Sensei to start class. There's the sound of students chattering all around me until one in particular catches my attention. "We're getting a transfer student today?" Taiga shouts excitedly in that creepy way he does whenever we get a new student that's a girl.

"What?"

"Really? Who?"

"Some girl named Tsubaki Rin." The others start talking over each other in excitement. I rest my chin on my palm with a slight smile on my face. "Correct class! We are indeed getting a transfer student. I expect you all to welcome her with open arms and treat her appropriately."

The door slides open and reveals a short blonde girl with vermilion eyes, her hair stops at her lower back, and she's wearing the typical Kunugigaoka High uniform for girls. Her expression says she means business and the other students already start sharing apprehensive looks.

"Welcome, Rin, I hope you will enjoy your time with us." She nods and does something that none of us expect, she smiles. Her eyes close and a tiny smile graces her face. Shock goes through the entire class. I recover quickly and take my phone out of my pocket, quickly snapping a picture of her smile.

I glance down at my phone and smile slightly before putting it away. "Thank you, Koro Sensei, I'm thrilled to be here," she says in a soft voice before bowing slightly to the class. At first glance one could say she looked like a typical ice princess, but as soon as she smiled the class was put at ease.

"There's an empty seat right by, Karma. As soon as you're seated we'll start with the lesson I have planned for today." She nods and walks down the aisle until she reaches the desk to my right and slides into her chair. Terasaka is on her other side and I'm not sure I like the way he's looking at her.

Like a piece of meat. I ignore it and glance back toward Rin's face. She notices my gaze and turns to face me. "Karma," she states and even though it wasn't really a question I still nod. "Nice to meet you, Rin." She beams at me and I can't help but be slightly taken aback by it.

"Likewise," she says and I hold my hand out to her. She reaches forward and wraps her small fingers around my hand, shaking it. Suddenly her eyes widen and she jerks her hand backwards out of my grip. I stare at her with a raised eyebrow as she gazes down at her hand in confusion.

"You okay?" She blinks and nods a strange look entering her eyes. "Fine." She turns and faces the front of the classroom as Koro Sensei starts his lecture. Rin opens her notebook and writes as he goes. We all soon discover that Rin is probably one of the smartest students here, almost everytime Koro Sensei asked a question her hand was the first one in the air.

"Right again, Rin!" Koro Sensei announces gleefully as he writes the answer on the board. "Wow, she's really smart," Nakamura states with an impressed smile. Rin ducks her head as if she's embarrassed but I see pride on her face. Eventually the bell rings and Koro Sensei dismisses us for PE.

"Rin!" Kayano shouts as she and most of the other girls race over to the new girl. I chuckle with amusement and shake my head, keeping my hand in my pocket. "Congrats, new girl, you'll be the center of attention for awhile." She smiles brightly as the girls surround her, two linking arms with her.

"I don't mind." They drag her away to get changed and I follow after the other boys, listening as they already talk about how cute and hot Rin is. Well, the cruder boys say hot and the more humble boys say she's cute. "Hey, Karma, don't think I didn't see you snap a picture of Rin," Taiga says nudging me with his elbow and I stare down at him with a bored expression.
