The dragon burst the village into flames, destroying house after house, leaving children and adults homeless and scared. The sky was painted orange in the fury of a thousand gods as the hero ran up a hill and bathed in sunlight, combined the crystals of creation, and destroyed the evil dragon of death! The book was cliche, I could predict every step, from the hot, but scary love interest to the handsome and careless best friend.

I had been reading the book for a few days, pure boredom the only thing driving me. It was the last of summer, sunlight, a rare luxury in the busy days and intense people. I however was always the girl at the back, busy with my own things and plans. Therefore, I was once again in a forest clearing, reading a terrible book and staring at the sky.

My brown curls had grown longer the last months, so I let them free in the slight breeze. A reward of some sort? I hadn't grown much the last years, but I was tall and well built, my face could be described as 'traditionally beautiful' and my eyes were calming and intelligent. I can't say this reflected my personality in any way, the warm brown-tones had always bothered me, and the pale skin with that bushy hair had never been the best. However, I knew, it could be worse, and my looks would never get in my way.

I was wearing a flowy top; it was bright yellow and depicted small sunflowers on the torso. My pants were more well-fitting, like my mother prefers, a smooth dark color. I hadn't changed my shoes in over three years, so the pair of green sneakers were worn and loved to bits. Barely holding together on my feet. With a loud sigh, I flew back on the grass and threw the book away, I could regret that later.

My eyes closed for a moment, I let a breath of fresh air and freedom flow through me before I had to get home. Just then, in the last moment of sun, a loud crack filled the silence. Labored breathing came from right beside me and a shout threw me of course.

"Hermione!" I opened my eyes. A boy and a man were staring at me. The man looked like Gandalf with a colorful twist, wearing long robes and pulling off a pong white beard. He had light blue eyes, surrounded by wrinkles and a small smile on the edge of his lips.

The boy was around sixteen, he had unruly dark hair and brilliant green eyes. He was thin and tall, with an almost outgrown scrawny-ness to it. He was wearing a grey shirt with jeans, though he seemed to fully ignore the older man's attire. In both their hands, they held sticks of wood, pointing them around like guns. After a moment both looked back at me. The boy smiled and sat down beside me, searching me for damage with his eyes.

"Hermione, are you alright? Did he hurt you?" He seemed genuinely concerned. I gave him a quick pat on the arm as I stood up and walked over to my book, thrown on the lawn a few meters away.

"The name is Day; I think you have the wrong person." The two males looked at each other, a secret conversation flowing between them. Just as I was about to leave, the man spoke up.

"Uhm, Day? We think there has been a misunderstanding, if you could just come with us, we can fix it all up." His eyes were bright, but he was hiding something. Both started walking towards me, slowly like predators on animal planet. A kidnapping was not on my to-do-list for the day, so I did the only sensible thing. Ran.

I didn't get far. Before I had taken three steps, my whole body froze. I ended up on the ground, stuck in a running position. My eyes were closed, so I didn't see much of the journey, but it was rather uncomfortable. My whole body turned inside out in a flash, a loud bang hurt my ears and when I landed the ground was of solid rock.

When my body was relaxed enough to open my eyes, the sun light was gone, a dim room surrounded me, filled with all sorts of weird stuff, living and dead alike. A few of the shelves had tons of boxes, just filling the space. While others held tanks and books, in the hundreds. The two males stood over me. I was a little dizzy, but I sat up. That was a mistake. I swear I almost puked on my new captors.
